CFB Handicapping Week 6

Freddy Wills

I will make an effort to give my sports betting advice or a quick over view of the games you want to know about. The Top 25 match ups each week is where most of the eyes turn. Last week I went 3-2 on premium plays last Saturday making me 11-5 the last three Saturday’s. We won on our NCAAF POD and swept the board Sunday and Monday in the NFL POD making it a perfect 3-0 POD weekend!

We still took a profit on the day and are back for this weekend with some of the biggest plays of the year!

This weekend there will be just three Top 25 match ups between ranked foes including our game of the week with a Florida traveling to play LSU in Tim Tebow’s return!

**GAME OF THE WEEK**

#17 Auburn @ Arkansas (Auburn -7)
(Saturday 12:00 pm et)

Finally Auburn is ranked and it only took a 5-0 start! Auburn hits the road in an SEC match up against Arkansas. If you like high scoring affairs you better tune into this one early on Saturday. I actually have one of my highest sports picks on this game and it’s not on the total!

#14 Penn State vs. Eastern Illinois
(Saturday 12pm et)

Penn State has not looked like their dominant self like last year. They split their first two Big Ten games and now they will host FCS opponent in Eastern Illinois for their final non-conference game…. Who cares…zzzzzz..

#5 Virginia Tech vs. Boston College (Virginia Tech -13.5)
(Saturday 12pm et)

Virginia Tech may have been looking ahead last week as they struggled early and late but pulled away to beat Duke. This week they host Boston College off an impressive win to Florida State. I fear in a few weeks you will no longer be able to call a win to Florida State impressive. These two teams have met for the ACC title the last three years so it should be interesting.

#15 Oklahoma State @ Texas A&M (Oklahoma State -4.5)
(Saturday 12:30 pm et)

It’s the Big 12 opener for both Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. This is a dangerous game for Oklahoma State as Texas A&M is off a blow out against Arkansas and might be looking for pay back against someone. Oklahoma State is 3-10 against A&M since the Big 12 started in 96.

#16 Kansas vs. Iowa State (Kansas -19.5)
(Saturday 12:30 pm et)

Kansas will try to stay undefeated when they host Iowa State as nearly 3 TD favorites. In my opinion this may just be too much points for even Kansas. They have won nine straight home games against Big 12 North opponents. Reesing continues to throw the ball and Iowa State is 0-34 in their last 34 road games against Top 25 opponents.

#25 South Carolina vs. Kentucky (South Carolina -9.5)
(Saturday 12:20 pm et)

South Carolina is back in the Top 25 for the first time in over a year. The Gamecocks host Kentucky a team that has not beaten South Carolina the last 9 times they’ve faced. Steve Spurrier is 17-0 against Kentucky and I’m expecting this game to be another blowout.

#13 Oregon @ UCLA (Oregon -6.5)
(Saturday 3:30 pm et)

Oregon sits at the top of my rankings in the Pac-10 and we have not touched them since our wager on them week 1 which was their only loss to Boise State. They will try to make it five wins in a row when they visit UCLA. UCLA lost to surprising Stanford last week for their first loss on the season.

#3 Alabama @ #20 Mississippi (Alabama -4.5)
(Saturday 3:30pm et)

After their SEC opener against South Carolina, Mississippi has a chance for redemption when they host Alabama. Alabama has the overall ranked #2 defense and in my opinion should be ranked #1 in the country. They have been basically flawless this year, but that did not stop this same Rebels team from beating Florida last year. I have a premium play and it’s my third highest play on Saturday!

#9 Ohio State vs. Wisconsin (Ohio State -14)
(Saturday 3:30pm et)

Wisconsin ranked 14th in rushing will face the Buckeyes who are ranked #10 in rush defense. What will give on Saturday? This will be the first big match up in the Big 10 unless you counted Iowa and Penn State. Ohio State has a huge advantage with the home field, but if Wisconsin wins they could jump into the Top 25 in a hurry.

#19 Oklahoma vs. Baylor (Oklahoma -25)
(Saturday 3:30 pm et)

It appears that Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford is probable to make his return against Baylor this weekend. It might just be too little too late as Oklahoma now has 2 losses after losing to Miami last week, but they will open up Big 12 play and could very well dominate the conference and be back in the hunt. Baylor has lost 18 in a row to Top 25 teams.

#9 Miami vs. Florida A&M (NL) (Saturday 7:00 pm et)

Surprising win for me from Miami when they beat Oklahoma last week. Miami now back in the Top 10 rankings. They’ll take a break from FBS play and host Florida A&M.

#2 Texas vs. Colorado (Texas -27)
(Saturday 7:15 pm et)

Texas goes back to Big 12 conference action when they host Colorado. Texas has not had much trouble in any game this season and they have won by an average of 34.3 points. It would not be a surprise if they covered the spread here again although Colorado is no stranger to Top 25 teams. They will face five Top 25 teams on their schedule.

#10 TCU @ Air Force (TCU -10)
(Saturday 7:30 pm et)

Expectations remain high for TCU as they dropped from #11 to #10 last week and now the Horned Frogs open Mountain West play against Air Force. BYU and Utah out of the picture in the Mountain West for Top 25 teams and now it’s up to TCU to keep the conference in the spotlight.

#22 Georgia Tech @ Florida State (FSU -2.5)
(Saturday 8:00 pm et)

The only talk on this game is because their is question in Bobby Bowden’s job security. He may put the answers with a whoopin on Georgia Tech this week. Hold on just one minute. Tech may have proved that they are not just a running team as Nesbit throw 11/14 for 274 yards against Miss State, but mostly going to their big physical receiver Thomas who is 6-3 and 229lbs.

#1 Florida @ #4 LSU
(Saturday 8:00 pm et)

This will clearly be Saturday’s GAME OF THE WEEK! with the return of Tebow as they put their #1 ranking on the line when they visit LSU. LSU has won 32 consecutive Saturday night games and will look to do so to move up into the Top 3 from #4.

#12 Iowa vs Michigan (Iowa -8)
(Saturday 8:05 pm et)

I’m still thinking this Michigan team is over rated, but Tate Forcier keeps pulling rabbits out of his hat. We will see how he rebounds after throwing the INT in OT that cost them the game when they face a very fast and explosive Iowa defense. 1985 was the last time Iowa was ranked higher than Michigan when they faced off. I expect total domination in this game, but you never know when Forcier may strike again!

#18 BYU vs. UNLV
(Saturday 10:00 pm et)

BYU will have a chance to prove they deserve to be in the Top 25 when they visit UNLV. How you may ask? Well look for them to run the score up against UNLV a team that ranks 112th in the nation in total defense while BYU is ranked 24th this game should get out of hand!
