Auburn Tigers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks Gambling Prediction & Week 10 Preview

Auburn vs Arkansas College Football Spread/Handicapping

Its is still kind of hard to believe the season that Auburn is having, I don’t recall anyone predicting they would be a sleeper in the SEC. They beat Texas A&M on the road and their only loss this year is to LSU, also on the road.

They might actually control their own destiny too because if they beat Alabama to close the season they could be tied with the Crimson Tide and own the tiebreaker.

They do have that game and the week before that against Georgia to be concerned about but this one, even on the road, should be fairly easy given what we have seen so far.

It looks like this team is getting better each week. Auburn might be back on the map.

Auburn

In case you were wondering how the Tigers were winning well new coach Gus Malzahn has souped up the offense, at least partially.

They have scored 62, 45 and 45 points the last few weeks and have the nation’s 5th best rushing attack averaging more than 300 yards per game on the ground (Bret Bielema must be jealous).

The passing game is still pretty light but at least quarterback Nick Marshall is a true running threat, who has been able to make enough key throws to hold onto the job. On defense the Tigers have some players and are holding opponents to just 20.5ppg. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The only teams to score more than 22 against Auburn this year are LSU and Texas A&M, everyone else they have bottled up pretty well. A result I expect to see again on Saturday.

Arkansas

I am still not sure what went down in Madison to make Bielema want to leave the Badgers but nevertheless he is in Fayetteville now.

Things have not been ideal in this first season and after starting 3-0 the Razorbacks have lost their last 5 games. Looking at their schedule it would not surprise if they have already won their last game of the season too.

When I mentioned that the Auburn passing game was light well Arkansas’ is even less productive, a big switch from the past regime.

QB Brandon Allen has been terrible completing just 44% of his passes and the running game, which has been productive, is just not at the level to carry that kind of poor efficiency.

Defensively the team is also a mess giving up 52 points in back to back weeks. In fact they combined score of the last two games against Alabama and South Carolina is 104-7.

Bielema has a lot of work to do to turn this program around…if he can.

Spread Pick: Auburn -8
