NCAA Football Picks: Handicapping Angles – Week 4 Free Parlay

Week 4 Free NCAAF Parlay Picks

Unfortunately, I ended up 1-1 on last week’s free parlay, as Indiana lost. This week I’ve circled out my two top games. The two games on my parlay are Iowa vs. Pittsburgh and Oregon vs. Washington State.

As always, be sure to keep coming back to Cappers Picks for our latest NCAAF free picks.

I’m betting on two favorites to cover the spread this week. Pittsburgh (-6.5) hosts Iowa at Heinz Field and Oregon (-23.5) is on the road in their first Pac-12 game this season against Washington State.

Game #1 – Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Pittsburgh Panthers

NCAA Football Point Spread: Pittsburgh –6.5 (-110)
NCAA Football Over/Under: 47 Points

The Pittsburgh Panthers (3-0) have wins over Delaware (62-0), Boston College (30-20) and FIU (42-25). The rushing attack has been incredible, as the Panthers are averaging 344.3 RYPG (5th) on the ground.

James Conner has 81 carries for 544 rushing yards and 8 TD’s. Chad Voytik is a dual-threat QB, but he has improvements to make in the pass game. Voytik has gone 29/50 for 284 yards, 5 TD’s and 2 INT’s.

[dfads params=’groups=63738&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Pittsburgh is scoring 44.7 PPG (16th) and allowing 15.0 PPG (16th). The Panthers will be tested in this game, but next week they have the Zips at home, so this is definitely a game they won’t be looking past.

The Iowa Hawkeyes (2-1) lost last week against Iowa State (20-17). The Hawkeyes two wins are against Ball State (17-13) and Northern Iowa (31-23). Neither of those wins was impressive in the least.

Iowa has a decent defense, but the offense has been bad thus far. Iowa is scoring just 21.7 PPG (102nd) while averaging 131.0 RYPG (95th) and 246.0 PYPG (62nd). The run game really needs to improve.

They’ve been going with a RBBC approach, but no one on the team has over 100 rushing yards yet. Iowa isn’t an explosive team. Jake Rudock only has 4 TD passes in three games, so the run game is vital.

Pittsburgh will be able to run the football. Iowa is allowing 162.1 RYPG and that hasn’t been against the best competition. Conner will have another huge game and the Panthers will cover the spread.

4* NCAA FREE Pick: Pittsburgh pulls away late to cover ATS

Game #2 – Oregon Ducks vs. Washington State

NCAA Football Point Spread: Oregon –23.5 (-110)
NCAA Football Over/Under: 75 Points

Washington State (1-2) beat Portland State (59-21) last week to get their first win of the season. Prior to the win the Cougars lost to Nevada (24-13) and Rutgers (41-38). This is their opening Pac-12 game.

The Oregon Ducks (3-0) open up their conference schedule as well and that’s why I expect them to come out focused and ready to dominate from the opening whistle rather than go through the motions.

Last week Oregon took care of Wyoming (48-14), but they started slow.

Oregon comes into this game averaging 52.0 PPG (5th), 330.3 PYPG (18th) and 243.0 RYPG (29th) while allowing 18.0 PPG (27th).

[dfads params=’groups=63739&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Cougars aren’t a threat on the ground, as they only pick up 40.0 RYPG (126th), but they have the best passing attack in the nation (517.0 PYPG). Oregon will have to limit the big plays from WSU.

Oregon has allowed 275.0 PYPG and that’s a concern heading into a game like this. Connor Holliday has already picked up 1465 passing yards and 12 TD’s, but he has also thrown 5 INT’s as well.

I expect the Ducks to intercept Holliday twice and roll in this game. Oregon isn’t going to take their first conference game lightly and this point spread seems a bit low considering the talent difference.

MSU lost by 19 points against the Ducks. WSU should stand no chance despite their big passing numbers. The Cougars do play better at home, but this should be the mismatch of the week.

4* NCAA FREE Pick: Ducks roll over the Cougars in Pac-12 action.
