The Maryland Terrapins travel to Morgantown to take on the No. 21 West Virginia Mountaineers in an ACC- Big East showdown this Saturday afternoon.

Maryland comes into this game with a 2-0 record for the first time since 2007. The Terrapins stunned Navy 17-14 in their opener as a 6 ½ point underdog. The total for that game stayed way ‘under’ the 50 point line. Last week they rolled over Morgan State 62-3 as a 36 point home favorite.

Against the Midshipman, Maryland was outplayed in every phase of the game except the most important one; the scoreboard. A late fourth quarter goal-line stand preserved the victory as they were able to keep Navy out of the end zone on fourth and goal from the one with just :34 seconds left.

Maryland only managed 11 total yards passing in this game, but did run the ball for 261 yards against the Midshipman. Last week, the Terrapins managed 149 yards in the air, but once again turned to the ground game, rushing for 221 yards on 44 carries. There were 10 different players that ran this ball in this one with RB D.J. Adams leading the way with 70 yards on 11 carries. NFL Betting

West Virginia rolled over Coastal Carolina 31-0 in its opener but failed to cover the 41 ½ point spread. It was a much different story last Thursday night against Marshall as it took some last second heroics to send the game into overtime, where the Mountaineers came away with a hard-fought 24-21 win. They were a 12 point road favorite in this one.

The Mountaineers rallied from a 21-6 deficit early in the fourth quarter behind QB Geno Smith, who was making just his second start of his college career. He finished the game completing 32-of45 attempts for 316 yards and one TD. RB Ned Devine ran for 112 yards on 23 carries and scored once as well. WR Tavon Austin was West Virginia’s leading receiver with nine receptions for 85 yards.

Maryland is just 3-7 straight up in its last 10 games but 6-3-1 against the spread. The Terrapins have lost nine of their last 10 games on the road SU and is 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight.

West Virginia is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games but just 3-7 ATS. The Mountaineers are 5-1 SU in their last six games as the home team, but just 1-5 ATS.

Head-to-head, the Mountaineers have beaten the Terrapins the last four times they have met dating back to 2004 and covered the spread in the last three. The average margin of victory in these four games was 13.25 points.

Maryland’s ground game has a chance to keep this game close if it can get on track early. West Virginia has struggled in the past against teams from the ACC as it is just 3-12 ATS in its last 15 games. Ride the trends in this one as the Terrapins find a way to cover the 10.

The Pick: Maryland +10
