With the disappointment of not being atop the Big 12 standings or in the BCS Playoff conversation, the Sooners take the field for the final time in the regular season on Senior Day inside Memorial Stadium.

Oklahoma State will look to pull off the road upset and sneak into a post season bowl.

Oklahoma State

Using the term “reeling” would still be an understatement when describing the Oklahoma State Cowboys current status. After starting the season off 5-1, the Cowboys have dropped 5 in a row by an average of almost 27 points each game. This will be the final opportunity for the Cowboys to earn their 6th win and become bowl eligible.

The brunt of the Cowboys problem starts under center. Either junior Daxx Garman or freshman Mason Rudolph will get the start Saturday. Both QBs have struggled to generate any type of offense as the Cowboys are scoring just 26.5 points a game (83rd). It gets worse on the road, where the Oklahoma State offense averages just 19.5 points a game.

Oklahoma State will have to focus on slowing down the Sooners rushing attack as well. Previous to the Sooners bye week, freshman RB Samaje Perine recorded and FBS record 427 yards on the ground. Oklahoma State’s defense is allowing 437.9 yards a game this season.

On the road the Cowboys are just 1-3 S.U. and 1-3 ATS.

Oklahoma

The Sooners had aspirations of being in the discussion for a spot in the BCS Playoffs prior to the start of the season. The inability to beat ranked teams has led to the Sooners being just in the top 25 rankings. Losses to TCU, Kansas State, and Baylor also hurt the Sooners in the Big 12 race as they sit in 4th place with a 5-3 conference record.

Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight will miss his third game due to a neck injury, leaving the ball in the hands of freshman Cody Thomas, who was just 3 of 13 for 39 yards last game against Kansas.

The Sooners will rely heavily on their rushing attack that averages 265.4 rush yards a game (9th). Samaje Perine has led the way for Oklahoma on the ground with 1,428 yards and 19 touchdowns. He has rushed for over 600 yards combined in his last two games.

The Sooners come in with a 4-2 S.U. home record. They’ve averaged 33.5 points a game in Norman and are allowing just 23.0 points on defense.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
  • Cowboys are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 conference games.
  • Sooners are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win.
  • Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Oklahoma.

Week 15 NCAA Football

The Sooners have dominated this rivalry lately, especially in Norman where they’ve won 5 straight. A 6th straight loss for Oklahoma State would be their longest losing streak since 2000.

Free 4* NCAA Football Pick: Oklahoma -20

Oklahoma State put up a decent fight against Baylor last game, but ultimately still fell by three touchdowns.

Oklahoma 47, Oklahoma State 17

With a defense that struggles mightily against the run, the Sooners should be able to find some clear gaps in the Cowboys defense.
