Stanford Cardinal vs OSU Beavers NCAA Football Odds
The undefeated Stanford Cardinals look to keep up their streak alive in Corvallis as they take on the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday. Oregon State is coming off of a loss in Utah, which just continued their already dismal season.

Stanford (8-0) looks to stay one step ahead of Oregon before their clash in two weeks. To do that, they’ll have to beat the other team from bears the nickname as its state–the Beavers of Oregon State.
This shouldn’t be that troubling for this dominant Cardinal team that is led by the best quarterback in the country, possibly one of the best pure, college quarterbacks ever. Yet it is still a team that is led by the run, as seen in week’s matchup against the USC Trojans.
A game that was Stanford’s to lose, and they nearly did.
Meanwhile, the Beavers can’t be looking forward to this matchup, especially in front of an unforgiving OS home crowd who booed the team several weeks back during their 27-19 loss to visiting ULCA.
Stanford ranks in the top 20 in a plethora of categories, including passing yards (20th), rushing yards (19th), points per game(3rd), and points allowed per game (13th). This team looks like an absolute force every time they step onto the field.
All of that being said, USC did prove that this team isn’t indestructible this past weekend. The smallest margin of victory on the season for Stanford going into their bout with the Trojans was 26 points. USC had a double digit lead in this one, but Stanford eventually prevailed in triple overtime. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
For all of their good work against the opposition’s ground game, (sixth in rushing defense), they are a polar opposite in the passing defense department, which could lead to a closer game in Corvallis, as the Cardinal have an 88th ranked passing defense..
That may bode well for an Oregon State team that has a top 25 ranked passing game. While this may not be enough to even the edge talent wise, it could be enough to make this one look at least moderately close on the score line.
The only problem for the Beavers is that they are a little too one dimensional on offense. Their rushing attack has left a lot to be desired this season and if allowed, a defense like Stanford’s will likely key in and that’s going to limit the Beavers productivity through the air. If they can’t establish some semblance of a running game in this one, it will be a long afternoon.
While the Beavers may have one small advantage with their passing game, they have two very big problems defensively. They are in the bottom half of the country in both passing and rushing defense and that’s a big issue when going up against a team like Stanford.
Matt’s Prediction: Stanford 45 Oregon State 17–
While Oregon State does have the home field advantage in this one, I don’t foresee them getting one up on the Cardinals. There is a chance Stanford could get caught looking ahead at the Oregon game next week. However, while I expect Oregon State will probably score a few times, there is no way they can keep Andrew Luck, and this talented Cardinal offense.
