While San Diego State is coming off a decisive victory against Air Force, San Jose State is coming off yet another loss and looking to bounce back.

Even worse for San Jose State is news that QB Joe Gray is questionable for the game with a shoulder injury which means Mitch Ravizza gets the nod again for the Spartans. Last week, San Jose State was knocked off 41-7 by Utah State.

San Diego State is clinging onto their tie with Fresno State for the top spot in the West Division of the conference coming into this, their final game of the regular season.

San Jose State

The Spartan offense suffered last week after the loss of Gray at the helm. Until his loss, Gray was 201 of 317 for 2,215 yards, 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also has 56 carries for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ravizza has gone 13 of 21 passing for 61 yards this year.

Tyler Ervin is looking to spell the lost offense, trying to use the run game to propel San Jose State to the win. He’s been a dual threat all season, running the ball 141 times for 805 yards and 4 scores. He also has 28 receptions for 298 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.

The leading receiver on the team is Tyler Winston, who has 72 grabs for 655 yards and 5 scores. As a team, there are seven receivers over 100 yards, with 6 of them near or over the 200 yard mark. The next men up behind Winston in the receiving game are Tim Crawley (35 catches, 430 yards, 1 touchdown) and Hansell Wilson (37 catches, 411 yards, 3 touchdowns.)

On defense, the tackles leader with 90 is Vince Buhagiar, who also has a sack, a QB hit and a forced fumble to his name this year. Leading the team in sacks is Travis Raciti with 3, while Jimmy Pruitt leads the team with 3 interceptions to go with his 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.

San Diego State

The Aztecs are coming off a big home win against Air Force which saw San Diego State dominate the game. The leaders in each offensive category continued to thrive, helping the team stay in first in the West division.

Quinn Kaehler has been effective for the Aztecs, completing 154 of 265 passes for 1,982 yards, 9 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Against Air Force last week, Kaehler had 326 yards passing.

On the ground, Donnel Pumphrey has showed why San Diego State dominates on the ground. With 1,494 yards already this year, Pumphrey is evoking memories of Ronnie Hillman in the area. Not to mention his astounding 16 rushing touchdowns. He’s also got 18 catches for 111 yards.

Two receivers are leading the team, separated by 1 reception and 29 yards this year. Eric Judge has 23 grabs for 439 yards and 2 scores while Ezell Ruffin has 24 grabs for 410 yards and 2 scores of his own.

Week 14 NCAA Football Prediction

While a win for San Jose State could very well happen, it is highly unlikely in this one.

San Diego State rolls in this one.

Free 4* NCAA Betting Pick: San Diego State

The loss of Joe Gray is quite possibly why the line is OFF in this game and why the Spartans will not far well in San Diego.

Final Week 14 Score: San Jose State 17 – San Diego State 34

San Diego State is at home and Pumphrey is running the ball as well as any back in the Aztec backfield lineage right now.
