For Penn State’s part, there’s been strong football in all departments, save a couple of pockmarks to conference heavyweights Iowa and Ohio State.

If veteran QB Daryll Clark and RB “Blue Royster Cult” Evan Royster can produce against stingy LSU, the Nittany Lions should be in good shape.

LSU came up short in close games against superpowers Florida and Alabama, and lost a game they shouldn’t have to Ole Miss on Nov. 21. Other than that they too have been sharp. A major question is whether the green QB Jordan Jefferson can produce against the Lions’ stout defense.

Penn State plays old school, hit-you-in-the-mouth D; if they can set the tone against the Tigers’ pedestrian attack, Clark and Co. should be able to score enough to pull out the win.

As is always the case with two versatile defenses, the turnover margin could certainly be the difference.

At any rate, look to see a cluster of names of both defenses that will ring a bell in the NFL a few seasons from now.

That’s how they do it in Happy Valley and Death Valley.
