San Diego State Aztecs vs. Wyoming Cowboys Gambling & NCAA Handicapping Prediction

SDSU vs Wyoming NCAA Basketball Gambling Lines

The Aztecs have not lost since the second game of the season to Arizona. That means they have rattled off 20 wins in a row and with victories over Creighton, Kansas and other they have certainly earned their lofty standing. [ad-4468020]

San Diego State

This team is probably overachieving a little but with their high commitment to defense and great mix of experienced, athletic players there is no reason to expect them to fall.

Xavier Thames has really stepped out of the shadows this year to lead the club. He is the leading scorer at 18ppg and has become a good clutch player too.

Also stepping up is F Winston Sheppard who has more than doubled his scoring average thanks to additional opportunities.

This team does not have a ton of beef but in transfer Josh Davis they have one of the best rebounders in the country – he averages 11 boards per game. All the pieces seem to fit.

SDSU is 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS in true road games this season. I love backing a great defense on the road as that usually travels well and I feel good that coach Steve Fisher will not let his guys coast.

My only concern is that the Aztecs are not great FT shooters but Thames is and he has the ball a lot.

Wyoming

The Cowboys are quietly enjoying a solid season. They are 5-5 in the competitive Mountain West and are ahead of more touted teams like Boise State and Utah State.

They are likely not going to the NCAA Tournament but they could creep into the conversation if they pulled off this major upset. They did a number on the Aztecs last year winning by 13 as a 2 point underdog.

Wyoming’s lead dog is Larry Nance Jr. A little smaller than his NBA dad he appears to be no less the athlete and has improved every season adding 5 more ppg every year.

The Cowboys are also solid in the backcourt where Josh Adams and Riley Grabau average 11ppg with positive assist to turnover ratios. Grabau is a dealy outside shooter making 48% of his three pointers. He will need to be sharp tonight.

Even though I do not like them tonight I wish I had picked up on Wyoming earlier this season as they have been an ATS darling at 13-6-1.

They are strong at home but I just think that SDSU is a little too far out of their league. Unless this number grows significantly the road team is the play.

Spread Pick: San Diego State -4
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: San Diego State 72 – Wyoming 61
