The Cincinnati Bearcats aren’t getting the headlines just yet, but they are 8-0 this year. This is a team that is playing much better than most people expected. Georgia Southern is just 3-7, and they have been blown out by several good teams this year. 
Georgia Southern’s primary problem is the fact that they play virtually no defense. The Eagles allow 81.4 points per game, and their opponents are shooting 47.6% from the floor this year. Georgia Southern routinely gets beat on the boards as well, because they are quite undersized. The Eagles score 74 points per game, but they aren’t terribly efficient on the offensive end, and they turn it over too often.
The Cincinnati Bearcats trounced the Dayton Flyers by a score of 68-34 last month. That win made me take a look at this Cincinnati team. Cincinnati is allowing only 54 points per game, which is fifth best in the nation. Their opponents are shooting just 37.9% from the floor. On the offensive end, the Bearcats are shooting a solid 37.6% from beyond the arc.
Ten players average ten minutes or more of playing time, and four players average double figures in points. Cashmere Wright is a solid point guard, and he really runs the show for this team.
Georgia Southern loves to push the pace, and in this case I believe Cincinnati will be willing to run with them. The Bearcats will have plenty of easy shots, and I think they’ll force a bunch of turnovers. I like the over in this game.
