Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Wisconsin Badgers Preview

On the season Iowa is 7-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 5-5 and Wisconsin is 10-7-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 8-10.

This season Wisconsin is 9-1 at home and Iowa is 3-0 on the road.

In their last games Iowa beat Ohio State 76-67 and Wisconsin beat Nebraska 70-55.

#25 Iowa is back in the top 25 after winning 2 in a row, but they are 8-point underdogs on the road facing a 6th ranked Wisconsin team they have lost 3 straight to.

The Badgers got over their 2nd loss of the season to Rutgers with a 15-point win in their last game, but they have lost their only game on the season facing a ranked team. Conversely, Iowa is 2-3 facing top 25 teams this season.

Iowa has a solid and athletic frontcourt and they will be tested tonight facing Wisconsin big man 7’ Frank Kaminsky, who is averaging 17.2 ppg and 8 rpg and is also shooting over 40% from beyond the 3-point arc. He is the key to the Badgers offense and that was evident, as he missed the Rutgers game, but then came back to have 22 points facing Nebraska.

One of the strengths of the Badgers is limiting opponents free throws, as they lead the Big 10 in that category. They will face a, Iowa squad that ranks 3rd in the conference in free throws per game.

The Iowa frontcourt is stacked with leading scorer Aaron White, Jarrod Uthoff, and 7’1” Adam Woodbury. White and Uthoff, are the only Iowa players averaging in double figures and if the Badgers play solid inside D and not allow these 2 to have big games they should win tonight.

The top 3 scorers for Wisconsin are also forwards so inside D will be key for both teams.

Iowa likes to get out on the break to get easy points and Wisconsin will try to slow the game and make it a half court affair.

While the Badgers have won 3 straight over the Hawkeyes the games were only decided by a combined 13 points.
