Utah

The Jazz come into this game off a 89-69 loss to the Spurs in which they totaled their lowest scoring effort in nine years. Utah has also dropped six of the last ten and have been going through an offensive drought.

In the last game against the Cavaliers, Gordon Hayward hit a deep jumper to beat the buzzer and lift the Jazz over the Cavaliers. However that has been just about the only highlight of their season so far.

Hayward is leading the team in scoring with 19.0 points per game. He has played well against the Cavaliers throughout his career, averaging 21.3 points per game over the last three games while shooting over 50% from behind the arc. Point guard Trey Burke has been impressive as well. Burke is averaging 12.8 points per game to go along with 5.1 assists.

The front court of Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter could give the undersized Cavaliers trouble. Collectively, Kanter and Favors are averaging almost 30 points per game and have been pretty effective on the glass.

Center Rudy Gobert has been contributing off the bench by averaging 6.6 points and 7.0 rebounds and leading the team in blocks with 2.3.

Cleveland

Since the return of LeBron James and the trade for J.R. Smith, the Cavaliers have found a rhythm. They enter this contest on a three-game winning streak after beating up on the Bulls Monday night, winning by 14 points.

Center Timofey Mozgov has proved to be the answer for the Cavaliers in the paint. Mozgov has started the past few games and is averaging 8.7 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds. Last game against he Bulls Mozgov posted an impressive double-double with 15 points and 15 boards.

LeBron James is averaging 31.7 points per game and 7.0 rebounds since returning from knee and back soreness. James is playing with much more intensity and looks refreshed after missing two weeks of games.

The acquisition of J.R. Smith has proved to be successful. Smith is averaging 17.0 points since joining the Cavaliers and is shooting nearly 50% from behind the arc.

If the Cavaliers hope to continue their win-streak they must lock down Utah’s big men and keep Gordon Hayward in check.

NBA Handicapping Tips:

  • Utah is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games playing on two days rest.
  • Utah is 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning S.U. record.
  • Favorite is 7-2-1 ATS in the last ten meetings.
  • Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
  • Utah is 3-7 ATS in the last ten meetings in Cleveland.

NBA Gambling Prediction

Nine points seems to be a lot of points for the Cavaliers to cover, especially with how inconsistent they have been this year, but with new role players the Cavaliers will look to win big. The offense for the Cavaliers has been clicking on all cylinders and it has been quite the opposite for the Jazz. Utah has held their opponents under 90 points in the last two games, but you can expect that streak to come to an end Wednesday night. Look for the Cavaliers to come out and play with intensity. They should not have a problem winning this contest by double digits, especially in front of the home crowd.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: CLE -9

With LeBron playing better than ever, Mozgov locking down the interior, and J.R. Smith shooting a high percentage expect the Cavaliers to take this one easily.

Cavaliers 111, Jazz 97
