The Timberwolves visit the 76ers on Tuesday night in a game between two teams that are still trying to make something of their season after disappointing starts. While each of their prospects for making the playoffs still look bleak, both teams have recently shown some signs of life so this game will be a good test for each.

Minnesota is currently 13-38 overall. They are 9-17 at home, but have only won four games on the road against 21 losses. They have been able to stabilize things a bit going 5-5 in their least ten games and they are currently riding a four game winning streak. In the past four games they recorded wins over the LA Clippers and the Knicks, but more impressively they beat the Mavericks 117-108 in Dallas, and in their last game they beat Memphis 109-102. Their leading scorer is Al Jefferson who is averaging 17.8 points a game. He has picked up his game, shooting 62.3 % in this four game stretch. Another player that has really come on as of late is F/C Kevin Love. He is averaging 15.3 points per game along with 11.3 rebounds.

Philadelphia is currently 19-31 overall. They are actually a better road team this year, going 11-15 away from the Wachovia Center and just 8-16 at home. They too have played much better lately winning six out of their last 10 and four in a row. In their past four games they have posted wins over the Nets, Bulls, Hornets, and Rockets. In their last game against Houston, Andre Iguodala scored 14 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and added six assists in the 102-95 victory. In the previous game against New Orleans, he just missed another double-double with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Samual Dalembert added seven points and 16 rebounds in the 101-94 win. Iguodala is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 17.2 points per game and Dalembert is the leading rebounder, averaging 9.8 per game. Allen Iverson is averaging over 14 points per game since his return to the team, but remains questionable for this game as he has missed the past two games tending to a family illness.

In the last match-up between these two teams back on January 18th, the 76ers blew a 20 point lead and eventually lost in overtime 108-103. Over the past six games Philadelphia has only given up more than 100 points once and has held their opponents to an average of 93.5 points over that span. I like the 76ers make it five in row as well as hold this game under the 205 total.

Betting Trends:

Minnesota is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games
Minnesota is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
Minnesota is 6-14 SU in its last 20 games
Philadelphia is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Philadelphia’s last 14 games
Philadelphia is 5-18 ATS in its last 23 games at home
Philadelphia is 5-13 SU in its last 18 games at home

Free Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt Pick:

Tennessee -3, The Vols are the hotter team right now and should be able to win outright to even the season series at one game apiece.
