*Stats do not include Utah’s Friday night game against New Orleans

Since winning seven consecutive games in November, the Jazz (18-8, 15-10-1 ATS) have struggled to find any momentum. Heading into Friday’s game against the Hornets, they’d rotated between wins and losses in seven consecutive games, including a 108-95 victory over Golden State on Monday. Despite covering, the Jazz are struggling against the spread, going 2-4 ATS in their past six.

Injuries are certainly slowing down the club. Raja Bell hasn’t played since Dec. 8 thanks to a strained adductor, and there’s no timetable for his return. Utah is also waiting for the return of center Mehmet Okur, who is rehabbing a torn Achilles. There were whispers Okur is close to rejoining the lineup, though that may not happen until after Christmas. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Utah is hoping for a bigger contribution from first-round rookie Gordon Hayward. Hayward started three games last week in place of the injured Bell but scored just a single point. Foul trouble was definitely a big part of the problem, as Hayward racked up nine fouls in just 40 total minutes of play.

In the meantime, Deron Williams will continue carrying the load. He’s scored 21 points or more in 10 of his last 11 games, including 30 or more in three consecutive games.

Milwaukee (10-14, 10-13-1 ATS) may finally be catching some of the magic of last year’s run. The Bucks had won three straight before losing 92-90 at the buzzer in San Antonio on Wednesday—certainly a respectable loss. Milwaukee still covered, improving to 3-0-1 ATS in its last four games.

Like Utah, the Bucks are playing through some injuries. John Salmons missed the Spurs game with back spasms and his status for Saturday night will probably be a game-time decision. Carlos Delfino, meanwhile, is still recovering from a concussion.

Also like Utah, the Bucks are relying on a guard to carry the load while everyone else is banged up. Brandon Jennings is posting a great sophomore campaign, and he’s one of just five players to averaging at least 18 points, five assists and four rebounds this season. Naturally, Williams is one of the others.

Utah ran wild in a 109-88 win over Milwaukee earlier this season, but the Bucks are playing much better basketball now. Playing on his home court, look for Jennings to step up and keep pace with Williams, and carry the Bucks to a cover.

NBA Trends:

UTA are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. NBA Central.
Over is 7-3 in UTA last 10 vs. Eastern Conference.
