Oklahoma City has to be disappointed to not win the opening game after leading late in the game, but they have to find a way to bounce back quickly.

This has the looks of a tremendous series.

Kevin Durant had 27 points and James Harden had 19 points in Oklahoma City’s loss Sunday night. Derek Fisher went 6 for 8 from the floor and had 13 big points. Russell Westbrook struggled with his shot in Game One. Westbrook was just 7 for 21 from the floor.

Oklahoma City lost the battle on the boards 50-43.

Defensively, the Thunder did a great job contesting shots in the paint. Oklahoma City racked up nine blocked shots in the opening game. They held the Spurs to just 62 points through the first three quarters, but San Antonio exploded for 39 points in the fourth. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Oklahoma City needs a better effort from Westbrook and more consistent defense in Game Two.

Manu Ginobili piled up 26 points to lead the Spurs to a big win. Ginobili has been struggling with his shot of late, but he was clutch and carried the team in the fourth quarter of the Game One win. Ginobili made all five of his free throw attempts and connected on 3 out of 5 shots from beyond the arc.

Tony Parker had 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win. Tim Duncan had 16 points and 11 boards.

Gregg Popovich called a timeout when the Spurs were down nine early in the fourth and lit a fire under his veteran team. San Antonio got the message and started running and getting much better looks.

The intensity that the Spurs had in the fourth quarter makes them a very tough team to beat. Popovich will definitely look for that same intensity all game in upcoming contests.

The Spurs didn’t play their best in Game One, but they still managed to get the win. Look for an even better effort from San Antonio in Game Two.
