Blake Griffin and the LA Clippers will try and avoid a Florida sweep when they take on the Orlando Magic this Tuesday night. Tip-off from the Amway Center is set for 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be available on NBA League Pass.
Los Angeles is coming off a 97-79 loss to Miami as an 11 ½-point road underdog this past Sunday. The Clippers have now lost three straight games to drop to 19-31 straight-up (25-24-1 against the spread) on the year. They are currently in 13th-place in the Western Conference and 7 ½ games out of the eighth and final playoff spot.
Griffin remains the center of attention for the NBA highlight reels with his thunderous dunks, but unfortunately his 22.9 points and team-high 12.9 rebounds a game have not translated into more wins. The Clippers are averaging 98.9 points a game, but giving up an average of 101.4.
Orlando is just 5-5 SU in its last 10 games and 1-3 SU in its last four. The Magic lost to Boston 91-80 on Sunday as a four-point road underdog after beating Washington 110-92 as a six-point road favorite last Friday. They are now 32-20 SU (22-29-1 ATS) and 5 ½-games behind Miami in the Southeast Division.
Dwight Howard continues to lead the way for Orlando with 22.4 points a game and is second in the NBA in rebounds with 13.7 a game. Jameer Nelson leads the team in assists with 6.5 a game and is averaging 12.4 points. The Magic are shooting 46.1 percent from the field and averaging 100.1 points a game, while giving up 94.7 points a game, which is seventh-best in the league.
The Clippers are just 3-17 SU on the road this season and have lost their last eight games against Orlando. Stick with the Magic to win and cover the points in this one.
