Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Portland Trailblazers Preview

On the season the T-Wolves are 33-43-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 42-33-2 and the Blazers are 39-37-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 36-40-1.

This season the Blazers are 31-8 at home and the T-Wolves are 7-31 on the road.

In their last games the Blazers lost to the Brooklyn Nets 106-96 and the T-Wolves lost to the Sacramento Kings 116-111.

The Blazers rested some key players in their last game, but they will likely be at full strength tonight. Even though the Blazers are secured of a top 4 seed in the West they are still 1.5 games back of the Clippers, who they need to catch or they will be hitting the road for the first round of the playoffs.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

There is a good chance the Blazers can make up some ground tonight, as the Clippers are not in action and they face a Minnesota team that has lost 7 straight and has the 2nd fewest wins in the league.

The Blazers have won 17 of their last 18 home games facing the T-Wolves including their last 6. In their 6-game streak over Minnesota Portland has won by an average of 12 ppg.

While the Blazers are at home and a HUGE betting favorite tonight the Timberwolves have beaten the Blazers twice this season.

The T-Wolves have the league’s worst defense giving up an average of 106.1 ppg.

Kevin Martin and Andrew Wiggins lead the Timberwolves and in the loss to the Kings Martin went for 37 points.

Ricky Rubio has an ankle injury he has been dealing with all season and he is out for this game and will be sat for the rest of the season.

The Blazers are one of the more balanced teams in the league ranking 10th in both points per game and opponents’ points per game. LeMarcus Aldridge is the leading scorer and rebounder and he should be fresh after not playing in the last game.

The T-Wolves have to try to contain him and G Damian Lillard, who are combining to average over 44 ppg.

In their last 11 games at Portland the T-Wolves are giving up an average of 110 ppg.

NBA Betting Trends

* Minnesota is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.
* Minnesota is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
* Portland is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games following a S.U. loss.
* Portland is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
* Portland is 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 home games against the T-Wolves.

4* Cappers NBA Free Pick

I think the Blazers will easily win this game, but the T-Wolves have been a good bet as of late on the road and they will cover the big 16.5-point spread.
