There is still some upward mobility for Washington if they finish strong.

Washington

Its a good thing the Wizards did some good work on their schedule early because they have not been very good over the last couple of months. However, they are coming off one of their best wins of the season (@ Memphis) and are riding a three game winning streak including a home win over the 76ers.

They have only 5 games left and there are a couple of gimmes in there so maybe they continue their strong play and coast into the playoffs with momentum and possibly better seeding.

Key to any playoff success will be good health and it looks like they will be without two starters for this one – Paul Pierce and Nene. Against Philly subbing in Otto Porter and Drew Gooden will be good enough provided the backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal perform.

Both had very good games against the Grizzlies combining for 38 points, 16 assists and 11 rebounds.

Philadelphia

The 76ers have lost their last six games but they are not the worst team in the league, even if it looked like they were trying to be with a lineup that is full of questionable NBA players and their penchant for drafting players that are injured.

The only thing they have to play for in this one is pride and you might want to note that they have a very good 23-15 ATS record at home this season.

The biggest challenge this team has is scoring. They are 30th in the league and are being led in scoring by Nerlens Noel, who has no offensive skill at all.

The starting backcourt of Ish Smith and Robert Covington would be a great reserve duo offering Covington’s size and Smith’s speed as defensive catalysts, with just a hint of scoring. As starters they are ho hum but are putting up some numbers because everyone is getting their shots off.

Noel also has numbers across the board but it is getting hard to see how/when he might develop some offensive moves.
