The Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers are both heading to the postseason, but whom they will be facing in the first round of the 2011 NBA Finals, remains a mystery with some teams still on the bubble as we head into the final few days of regular season action.

Portland will want to zero in on locking up the Western Conference’s sixth seed with a victory against the Grizzlies who are just one game back and tied with New Orleans who lost to the Utah Jazz on Monday night.

The Blazers have won two straight and four of five after beating a struggling Los Angeles Lakers team 93-86 on Friday. Leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge had his 35th double-double of the season and it was the 24th time he has scored at least 20 points with 10 or more rebounds. Gerald Wallace added 19 points and dominated the boards pulling down 13 rebounds.

Wallace, who was traded to the Blazers in February, has quelled critics and fans who may have wondered how the forward known as “Crash” would fit in as Portland made its push for the playoffs. He is averaging 15.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 22 games as a Blazer this season. He’s had four double-doubles in Portland and 18 overall, and he has scored in double figures in 10 straight games.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies cruised to a 111-89 win against New Orleans their last time out. It was their ninth win in 11 games as Memphis clinched its first playoff berth in five seasons. Shooting guard O.J. Mayo scored 18 points while Mike Conley was held to just two. However, Conley contributed with a solid defensive effort, holding Hornets’ star point guard Chris Paul scoreless for the first time in his career.

Memphis also outscored the Hornets 56-28 in the paint, continuing a trend of dominating the post, where they are an NBA-best 51.3 PPG.

With a win on Tuesday, they could tie Portland for the sixth seed. If both teams finish with the same record, the Grizzlies would hold the tiebreaker because of a better head-to-head mark. Portland and Memphis have split two meetings this season, so it’s only fitting that a final match up could still hold serious playoff ramification.

The Blazers beat the Grizzlies 100-99 on Nov. 16, while Memphis snatched an 86-73 win in the reversal on Dec. 13.

Memphis has won three of the last five matchups with the Blazers, and has won the last two meetings in Portland.

Portland center Marcus Camby who practiced with the team on Monday, is slated to return for Tuesday’s game against Memphis. The 6-foot-11 UMass alumnus strained his neck last Tuesday and has not played since. Camby leads the team in rebounds (10.3) and blocked shots (1.5) and will be a huge weapon in helping to shut down the Grizzlies inside attack.

Recent Trends:
MEM are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road games.
MEM are 42-18 ATS in their last 60 games overall.
MEM are 13-28-2 ATS in their last 43 Tue. games.
POR are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Under is 7-2 in POR last 9 Tue. games.
Underdog is 17-8-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings.

Matt’s Free Prediction: PortlandWith Wallace clearing the glass and Aldridge’s current trend of not missing. I look for the Blazers to grab this one at home.
