L.A. Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs Preview

On the season the Lakers are 9-12-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 11-11 and the Spurs are 11-11 ATS and they have an O/U record of 10-12.

This season the S8-1 at home and the Lakers are 3-7 on the road.

In their last games the Spurs beat the New York Knicks 109-95 and the Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings 98-95.

Both of these teams are coming off a win, but the Spurs are 8-2 in their last 10 games while the Lakers are only 3-7 in their last 10. However, will Kobe rant at a recent practice that was open to the press light a fire under his team? He called out several players for a lack of effort and we shall see if that pays any dividends tonight in the Lone Star State.

The Lakers are the worst defensive team in the NBA, but they held the Kings to under 40% shooting in their last game.

While they will be facing a decent Spurs’ offense tonight their own offense has a tall task facing a San Antonio defense that ranks 2nd in the league in opponents’ points allowed.

The Spurs may full squad tonight and even though Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard all sat out the Knicks game they still won pretty easily. Still Parker and Leonard are questionable tonight with minor injuries.

The Spurs have won 8 of their last 10 games facing the Lakers.

Obviously, Kobe is the big gun for the Lakers and while he leads the league in scoring he is shooting a career worst FG% and in the home loss to the Spurs earlier this season he had his worst game being held to 9 points.

Kobe and Nick Young were jawing in the recent practice and he and the likes of Jordan Hill, Carlos Boozer, and Jeremy Lin have to take some scoring pressure off the Black Mamba.

No shock that the original Big 3 still lead the Spurs and the Lakers would be more than happy to see Parker in street clothes, as the PG leads San Antonio in scoring.

Cappers NBA Free Pick

Have to go with the Spurs in this one, as they killed the Lakers in L.A. back in November and they will do the same and cover in their house.
