Houston’s offense, which was without center Dwight Howard, was led by James Harden who scored 32 points and Chandler Parsons with 28 and nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Rocket’s 11-game home winning streak came to an end with the help of 19 turnovers.

After trailing 61-58 heading into the break, the Rockets opened the third quarter with a 9-2 run to take a four-point lead before the Clippers recovered to take an 88-84 edge into the final stanza.

Houston never recovered.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn (39-33)  has won six of its last eight and two in a row after a 114 -99 thrashing of the Timberwolves on Sunday.

Paul Pierce racked up 22 points while Mason Plumlee, Shaun Livingston and Alan Anderson each put up 13 points apiece as Brooklyn remained within 1 1/2 games of fourth-place Chicago in the Eastern Conference and 2 1/2 behind Toronto for the Atlantic Division lead.

The win also tied a franchise record with 13 straight home wins.

The Nets led early in the third quarter, but gave into a 11-0 run that gave Minnesota a 69-63 lead.

However, Johnson scored eight and Livingston added five during a 13-3 burst as Brooklyn surged back in front, entering the final stanza.

Brooklyn never relinquished control coasting to the finish.

Matt’s Prediction:

The Nets are 25-11 at home, where they have held opponents under 100 points in 12 straight games.

The Rockets are 20-15 on the road and have won 10 straight over the Nets on the road.

However, the Nets are playing well and are going to bounce to when this one at home.

Nets 104,  Rockets 97
