The Clippers dominated a high scoring affair the first time these two teams met 120-100. Blake Griffin went for 30 points and Chris Paul scored 18 en route to the victory. Anthony Davis was the lone bright spot for New Orleans, as he scored 26 on 9 of 15 shooting.

Los Angeles

The Clippers have been one of the most dominant teams in the NBA this season. When they’re clicking on all cylinders, they can easily push 120+ points.

It’s rare to find the Clippers on an off night, but that was the case on Wednesday when they took on the Utah Jazz. The Clippers shot just 44.7 percent from the field, but like all good teams do, they found a way to come out victorious. The unlikely heroic effort came from SG Jamal Crawford. Crawford went for 21 points and 3 rebounds in the win.

The Clippers now turn their attention to the Pelicans, who will get star F Anthony Davis back from injury in time for this match up.

The Clippers will look to duplicate their 120 point outburst last time these two teams met. Overall, Los Angeles is averaging 107.0 points a game (4th).

With three point threat J.J. Reddick questionable, the Clippers may need Crawford to duplicate his performance from last game.

On the road this season, Los Angeles is 12-7.

New Orleans

The Pelicans come in off a disappointing loss to the hands of the Denver Nuggets at home 93-85. After running off 4 straight wins, Anthony Davis got hurt and left the game late into the third quarter and the Pelicans could not find somebody to step up. Davis is listed as probable for Friday night.

If Davis is unable to go on Friday, the Pelicans could be in a for a long night. Without Anthony Davis, New Orleans is just 6-13 over the previous 2 seasons. With Jrue Holiday already sidelined, the Pelicans would be missing a giant chunk of their offense.

New Orleans has flirted with the .500 mark throughout the entire season and finally got over that hump thanks in large part to that season high 4 game winning streak. They’ve also continued to chip away at their playoff deficit. Currently, they sit just 2.5 games back of 8th seeded Phoenix.

Smoothie King Arena has been a successful place for New Orleans as well. At home, the Pelicans are 15-6.

Backers have fed off their home play, as they are 14-7 ATS.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Clippers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
  • Clippers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games.
  • Pelicans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.
  • Pelicans are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a ATS loss.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Los Angeles -6

Even with the success for New Orleans at home, with Anthony Davis just questionable, the Clippers have a major advantage. Assuming Davis plays, he is not at 100% and that will spell a lot of trouble for the Pelicans.

Los Angeles 107, New Orleans 92

Los Angeles will run away with this game when its all said and done.
