This looks like a mountain too big for this team to climb.

Golden State

After a couple of close games the Golden State Warriors let loose on Saturday.

They were in control the whole game, which was essentially over by halftime. Given that they were on the road and their opponent was desperate it was one of the more surprising outcomes of these playoffs.

Golden State is certainly good enough to win in any circumstance but as a one point favourite no one was expecting a 35 point beatdown.

It looks like Golden State is heading to the NBA Finals.

Just when you thought Steph Curry couldn’t be any better he serves up another fantastic performance, scoring a game high 40 points on Saturday.

4 turnovers show that he is at least somewhat human.

As impressive as Curry was what might be even more impressive is that they won so easily despite Harrison Barnes going 0-9 from the field.

Klay Thompson was a little better but he has yet to find this stroke in this series.

Houston

Needless to say the Rockets are in trouble.

They are down 3-0 and in a playoffs that has seen them play a bunch of stinkers game three in this series might have been the worst.

There is no way to sugar coat it, they got their butts kicked last time out and given that we saw an human performance from James Harden you have to wonder if this group is finally out of gas.

For the first two games he was on a level with Curry but in the last one he was nowhere close.

The star for the Rockets in game three was Dwight Howard who went 14/14. Harden really struggled and there is simply not enough team around him for Houston to beat elite teams without him.

Knowing the Beard I expect him to be back to his indomitable form but it looks like it is still not going to be enough.

I hate to even suggest it but the Rockets might need Josh Smith to step up.

NBA Betting Trends:

  • Under is 6-0-1 in Warriors last 7 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Under is 7-0-1 in Warriors last 8 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Under is 9-1 in Warriors last 10 overall.
  • Over is 6-0 in Rockets last 6 games following a double-digit loss at home.
  • Over is 4-0 in Rockets last 4 games following a ATS loss.
  • Rockets are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Houston.
  • Warriors are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Houston.
  • Warriors are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

NBA Betting Prediction:  Warriors -4.5

I really want to believe that Houston has a final stand in them but it is hard to see at this point.

NBA Score Prediction:  Golden State 104 – Houston 96

Further, getting the Warriors at this number in any game is pretty good.
