ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

Houston was able to get past Denver in their last game by a score of 122-111, with their points coming from a very surprising spot.

Rockets center Dwight Howard converted on 17 of his 24 free throw attempts in the game, with many of them coming down the stretch of the game with the Nuggets trying to claw their way back. Howard would finish the game with 25 points and seven boards.

The big scoring effort came on a night in which shooting guard James Harden had some trouble, hitting on only 5 of his 16 shots from the floor, although he did dish out nine assists. The team got some scoring help from Chandler Parsons, who scored his 20 points while hitting better than 50 percent of his shots. The Rockets shot 50.6 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from long distance in the game.

Houston didn’t have an answer for Ty Lawson in the game, allowing him to score 28 points and dish out 17 assists, all while hitting on better than half of his shots from the field. The Nuggets hit on 45.5 percent of their shots from the field in the game.

Boston didn’t have that kind of success in their last game, a 106-88 loss to Minnesota.

Guard Avery Bradley carried the offense, hitting on 12 of his 23 shots from the field, good for 27 points, tops in the game. Not much success offensively for the rest of the team, as the Celtics hit 39.5 percent from the field and 27,8 percent from the land beyond in the game.

Minnesota didn’t have much better luck in the game, hitting on 42.6 percent of their shots from the floor, but they were able to get to the charity stripe 22 times and knock down 19 of those shots.

Kevin Love was a force to be reckoned with in the game, scoring 23 points and bringing in 12 boards while knocking down a pair of triples in the game. Center Vitor Faverani had a solid defensive game for the Celtics, blocking four shots and racking up three steals.

While giving away this many points in an early season basketball game, the Rockets have been dynamic at home, and the Celtics have simply had too much trouble scoring the basketball to be able to keep up with the Rockets in this one. Don’t be surprised if Houston runs Boston right out of the gym.

The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these teams.

The play: Houston -11
