Kyle Busch has officially taken over the reigns as NASCAR’s hottest driver with his fourth Sprint Cup victory in five races after taking the checkered flag at Indianapolis last Sunday.

Joey Logano worked his way into second place and Kevin Harvick added another Top 5 finish to his resume by taking third.

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Pocono based on betting odds provided by Bovada.

The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)

I cannot deny the fact that I should have kept riding Kyle Busch the past two weeks after picking him to win at Kentucky, but I confident in my favorite pick this week.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is listed as a +800 fourth-favorite to make his third trip this season to Victory Lane.

The No. 88 car has been solid all season long with a total of 10 finishes in the Top 5 and the team’s current form remains strong with three Top 5’s in its last six races.

The main reason I am going with Dale Jr. is his recent success at this track. He pulled-off a rare sweep at Pocono last season and this year’s 11th-place finish in the first race here snapped a streak of four-straight Top 5 finishes.

The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)

Denny Hamlin has quietly been building some momentum with three Top 5 finishes in his last four Sprint Cup races.

He won earlier this year at Martinsville and his betting odds to win this week have been set at +1200.

The No. 11 car has posted a total of five finishes in the Top 5 this season and the team is currently in 10th-place in the Sprint Cup standings with 591 total points.

This is another pick based mainly on a driver’s record at this venue.

From 2006 to 2010, Hamlin dominated Pocono with four Sprint Cup victories and lately he has finished in the Top 10 in his last four runs around this track

The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)

One of the brightest up and coming stars of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup is Kyle Larson in just his second full-time season racing in this series. I have used him as a longshot before, but his No. 42 car is still looking for its first win.

It came close at Dover with a third-place finish and all told it has placed in the Top 10 six times this season.

One of the reasons I am going with Larson this week as a +5000 longshot is an average finishing position of 8.0 in his first three runs around this track in a Sprint Cup race.
