MLB World Series Gambling Lines: 2015 Baseball Future Sportsbook Picks

Handicapping 2015 World Series Betting Odds

The MLB gambling season has hit the half-way point and the cream has already started to rise to the top. The bottom dwellers have also begun to separate themselves from the pack and some have declared themselves sellers – already!

Betting on MLB Baseball – World Series?

So where does your favorite sit in the eyes of Vegas? If you are a Royals fan, you have to be feeling awfully good about where your team sits through the first half.

If you are a Phillies fan – I’m truly sorry.

Let’s take a peek at the odds for every team to win the World Series and make arguments why/why not they are a worthy contender.

Odds & Predictions to win the 2015 World Series

Kansas City Royals 6/1

You gotta give it up to the Royals. After a year that nobody thought they would duplicate the Royals have kept getting it done thanks to a total team effort. They are fourth in the AL in runs per game and first in fewest runs allowed per game – a dangerous combination indeed. KC is battle-tested and has made believers out of a lot of people.

The Royals already have a 4 ½ game lead in their division and they own the best record in the AL. Their pitching and offense have them as a rightful betting favorite. Their recent playoff experience only enhances that position.

St. Louis Cardinals 15/2

The league’s best team in terms of wins limped into the All-Star break after losing three straight to Pittsburgh and going sub .500 on their trip before the break. This team is still far and away the best team in the National League. The break likely did this team some good- expect them to be there until the end.

Washington Nationals 15/2

Let’s face it – any team that can throw Max Scherzer, Jordan Zimmermann and Stephen Strasburg at you is a threat in the playoffs. Bryce Harper and the Nationals offense is top three in the NL with over four runs per game to boot. The Nationals came into the season with a lot of hype and seem absolutely built for a long playoff run.

Los Angeles Dodgers 17/2

Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke make up a terrific 1-2 punch and the offense has overachieved. If the hitters can continue to generate 4.2 runs per game like they have the Dodgers, too, become dangerous. At the All-Star break the Dodgers own a 4.5 game lead in the division – they shouldn’t have much of a problem the rest of the way.

San Francisco Giants 12/1

The problem for the Giants is the 4.5 game hole that they have dug in the NL West. They will likely be in a race for the Wild Card meaning that they will have to beat either Washington, St. Louis or Los Angeles on the road – JUST TO GET OUT OF THE NL. It’s going to be tough in the National League this year – my feeling is that the Giants will be and early casualty.

Los Angeles Angels 12/1

Somebody has to challenge the Royals in the AL – Vegas thinks the Angels are in the best position to do so –me too. They have solid pitching and they have two guys named Mike Trout (Trout is off the charts) and Albert Pujols the scare the bejesus out of opposing pitchers. LA isn’t spectacular but they could make a run in October.

Chicago Cubs 14/1

Just can’t trust the Cubs

Pittsburgh Pirates 14/1

The Pirates are in the mix in the complex National League picture. They sit 2.5 games behind the Cardinals but 5.5 games up in the Wild Card – they look to be on a path for the postseason. Do I like the Pirates – yes. Do I like them against Scherzer, Zimmermann and Strasburg or Kershaw and Greinke in a seven game series – no.

Houston Astros 16/1

They look like this year’s Washington Nationals – solid up and down the lineup but not quite ready for postseason success.

New York Yankees 16/1

This team will wear down toward the end of the season. They epitomize the “veteran club” that likely won’t be able to keep up the pace. Still, you have to give props to this team – they are overachieving thus far.

Detroit Tigers 20/1

It’s pretty incredible that the Tigers are merely a .500 team at the half-way point. Not many, including myself see this team digging themselves out of the huge hole they dug for themselves.

Updated MLB Sportsbook Lines

  • Baltimore Orioles 25/1
  • Boston Red Sox 25/1
  • Toronto Blue Jays 25/1 – A couple of pieces away but could do itself huge favored by acquiring some pitching at the deadline. Looking for a deep sleeper? Toronto’s offense is no joke and if they can add a couple of arms, they could be a factor.
  • Tampa Bay Rays 28/1
  • Texas Rangers 33/1
  • Cleveland Indians 40/1
  • Minnesota Twins 40/1
  • New York Mets 40/1
  • Chicago White Sox 50/1
  • Oakland Athletics 50/1
  • San Diego Padres 50/1
  • Seattle Mariners 50/1 – The sexiest pick on the board before the season started has been awful this year. Maybe next year Seattle! I know that you are all thrilled to hear that!
  • Atlanta Braves 75/1
  • Arizona Diamondbacks 100/1
  • Cincinnati Reds 150/1
  • Miami Marlin 150/1
  • Colorado Rockies 300/1
