2012 Rangers vs White Sox Betting Predictions

The Rangers were on a nice roll but couldn’t close out the sweep against Oakland over the weekend.  Still they have won 7 of their last 10 and are one of the best road teams in the Majors with a 23-15 record.

Texas

These teams have met three times this season with Texas taking two of those to open the season at Arlington.  This is a nice series between two current division leaders, one expected (Texas) and the other not (Chicago).

Roy Oswalt has made just two starts for the Rangers but things are looking pretty good so far.  The team has won both games, with him pitching 6 innings in each.  He is striking out a batter per inning and has a K:BB ratio of 12:3.  If he keeps that up a load of other teams are going to be wondering why they didn’t pull the trigger on him.  This is a rare spot where you can get Texas as an underdog so there is good value there. Chicago

The White Sox strolled into the Bronx and grabbed the first two games against the Yankees this weekend…but they couldn’t hold the momentum and dropped the last two of the series between division leaders.  Now they are back home looking to best the team with the best record in the league.  Back to back series against MLB’s top two teams is a bit of a scheduling quirk.  That’s life in the American League.

In his first season as a starter lefty Chris Sale is making hitters look silly.  The league is hitting a scant .198 against him and he is showing better control than he did when he was coming out of the pen.  He has never faced Texas as a starter and was given an extra day of rest heading into this one to manage his innings and fatigue.  It should be fun to watch Sale against fellow All-Star Josh Hamilton (0-1 lifetime).

O/U Pick:  Under
Score Prediction:  Chicago 5 – Texas 3
