PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays LH Ricky Romero (6-1, 4.04 ERA) vs. White Sox RH Phil Humber (2-2, 5.37)

Toronto

Now they venture to Chicago to face a White Sox team that is surprisingly leading the AL Central.  The Jays have feasted on the Central with an 8-3 record but have not played Chicago yet this season.  They also are likely without their best bat this year – Edwin Encarnacion – at least for the opener after he got hit on the hand Sunday.

The Blue Jays have their rotation lined up to continue their winning ways.  Ace Ricky Romero will start the series looking to improve on his 6-1 record.  As long as he can have a clean performance the team should be in the game.  He is 2-0 lifetime against the Pale Hose with impressive peripherals but Chicago is one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, especially hitting the ball.  [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Chicago

With the Orioles fading fast the Chicago White Sox have quickly become the best story in the American League.  They are 9-1 over their last 10 and have used that run to leap to the top of their division, sitting just a game behind the Texas Rangers for the best record in the American League.  This is a balanced club that is proving it can hit and pitch pretty well.  It is also getting some great rebound performance from key performers who failed last year that are making a big difference.

The leader of that group is slugger Adam Dunn.  He may only be hitting .222 but he has refound his power stroke with 17 homers already.  Throw in the .289 hitting Alex Rios and the pitching staff has a lot more room for error.  That is good for starter Philip Humber who has not overly sharp since his perfect game against Seattle.  Even still the White Sox have won his last three starts.

O/U Pick:   Over
Score Prediction:  Toronto 6 – Chicago 4
