Baseball Betting: Angels vs Rangers
The Los Angeles Angels are easily the most disappointing team for me this year. This team was supposed to challenge Texas for American League supremacy but they have needed a hot streak lately just to up their record within breathing distance of .500 and third place Seattle.

Moneyline: Texas -140, L.A. +130
O/U: 8.5
PITCHING MATCHUP: Los Angeles LH C.J. Wilson (4-2, 2.61 ERA) vs. Texas RH Yu Darvish (4-1, 2.54 ERA).
Los Angeles
The offense has been sinful while the pitching has not been as effective as expected. A rotation deepened by the addition of C.J. Wilson has struggled overall.
You can’t blame Wilson though. He is 4-2 and on a team without Jered Weaver would certainly be considered the ace. Acquired in the offseason as a free agent he is having no trouble adjusting to wearing the halo.
The only good thing you can say about their other major free agent signing – Albert Pujols – is that he finally went yard a few games back. He has 6 RBI in his last 4 games but still seems lost at the plate.
Facing Yu Darvish for the first time probably won’t help things. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
Texas
The Texas Rangers have come back down to earth of late – or at least all the Rangers except for slugger Josh Hamilton. They hold a slight lead over the A’s in the AL West and will be looking to put a hurt on their supposed chief competition for division supremacy in the Angels.
As this is being written they are looking to stop a losing streak form starting at the hands of the Orioles(leading 7-3 in second game of double dip).
This Yu Darvish guy looks like he is going to be pretty good. His first go wasn’t great but after that he had 4 straight starts with an earned run or less given up and he is averaging more than a strikeout per inning. His achilles heel is walks but against the Angels there is no need for him to nibble.
It certainly helps that the Rangers are the top scoring team in the majors, leading MLB in batting average and OPS too.
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: Texas 7 – Los Angeles 4
