Cincinnati

They just suffered a tough loss at the Mets Thursday night and now travel across some bridge or other to face a Yankees team that did not look good in Toronto.

Surprisingly it is the staff not the bats that are leading the way.  Other than Joey Votto and Jay Bruce the Reds are getting a lot of offensive production.

Pitching has been a different story as several arms are already in mid-season form.  Starter Bronson Arroyo has made a quality start in the majority of appearances this year but struggled last time out against Washington.  The key has been control as he has issued just 5 walks in 7 starts.

I am looking forward to seeing phenom Aroldis Chapman on the big stage.  He has yet to give up a run and is second on the team in Ks even though he has only pitched 20 innings. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

New York Yankees

It was a brief trip but the Yankees will be happy to get out of Toronto and head home.  Up North they scored just two runs over two games, dropping both and falling to fourth place in the American League East.

Things are not going according to plan in the Bronx and even though there is some nostalgia for Andy Pettite I doubt that is the move that is going to put them over the top.

Especially not based on what we saw in his first start.  Sure he looks serviceable but can he really be a difference maker.  The Yankees are hoping he can stop their current skid before it turns into a streak.

Playing to their favour is that Arroyo has never beaten the Yankees while getting roughed up pretty bad throughout his career.

Sure a lot of that came from when he was with Boston but there still might be something about the Yankee mystique.

O/U Pick:  Over
Score Prediction:  New York 7 – Cincinnati 6
