Oakland travels to the Bronx to take on the New York Yankees in Game 1 of three-game series on Tuesday, looking to recapture a little magic from the pairs’ first meeting earlier this season.

Oakland (38-47) arrives in the Big Apple, sitting in last place in the AL West, falling to Seattle 2-1 in its last outing.
The A’s offensive continued to struggle for the for the second straight game, scoring just three runs in the past two.

Meanwhile, the Yankees (44-38) will try to rebound from an ugly performance that ended their three-game winning streak, with a 8-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday.
It was a bad day for New York, who suffered from a lack of offense, inconsistent pitching and three errors that led to three unearned runs.
It was the sixth time in seven games that the Yanks have scored three or fewer runs.
New York will now hope that its anemic offensive output will not be a factor for right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who will get the nod in Game 1.
Eovaldi has won three straight starts and has given up three or fewer runs seven times in his last eight outings.
However, he didn’t factor in his last outing against the Angles, and is 0-1 with a 5.60 ERA in three career starts versus the A’s.
Oakland in turn will start pitching ace Sonny Gray on the mound on Tuesday. Gray played a key role the last time the two teams met in May.

The right-hander returned to the A’s rotation after being hospitalized due to a severe case of salmonella.
Gray will make his first start at Yankee Stadium, coming off a 6-3 victory at Texas on June 25. He is 6-1 with a 1.88 ERA in nine starts on the road.
