NFL Betting – Eagles Look to Bounce Back from Tough Loss at Bengals’ Expense

The Philadelphia Eagles (5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS, 4-5 O/U) couldn’t keep pace with the New York Giants in their 36-31 home loss in the BetUS Sportsbook on Sunday. However, the Birds shouldn’t have any problems in getting back in the win column for NFL sports betting buffs when they visit the lowly Cincinnati Bengals (1-8 SU, 3-6 ATS, 3-5-1 O/U) in this contest.

The Eagles had their three-game winning streak snapped against the Giants and couldn’t make a big play when it counted most, late in the fourth quarter.

Veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb completed 17 of 36 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns, but Philadelphia’s defense couldn’t stop Giants blossoming signal caller Eli Manning or bruising running back Brandon Jacobs as the pair combined for three New York touchdowns.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid failed in a big way to utilize elusive running back Brian Westbrook properly, getting, arguably the game’s best dual threat skill player, just 13 carries for 26 yards and three pass receptions for 33 yards.

The Bengals had a bye in Week 10 one week after recording their first win of the season in shocking the inconsistent Jacksonville Jaguars 21-19 at home on Nov. 2.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 21 of 31 passes for 162 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the surprising win while running back Cedric Benson added 104 rushing yards and one touchdown on 24 carries.

The Bengals sacked Jaguars quarterback David Garrard three times and intercepted him once while simultaneously shutting down the Jaguars rushing attack, limiting Maurice Jones-Drew to just 33 yards on 10 carries and veteran Fred Taylor to juts 12 yards on five carries.

Analysis: Despite playing on the road in this contest, I like the Eagles to bounce back from their heartbreaking loss to New York in a big way by routing the Bengals. To put it mildly NFL Sportsbook bettors, I say, take the Birds and the Over in this contest and you won’t go wrong on either selection.
