UFC 92 Preview

What better way to payoff credit cards debts racked up by the wonderful holidays, when most likely all you’ll get is a tie you’ll never wear and a headache compliments of in-laws, than winning it via UFC 92? On Saturday, Dec. 27 online UFC betting will be at its finest when Forrest Griffin defends his light heavyweight title against “Sugar” Rashad Evans at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Griffin will bring a 16-4-0 MMA record and a three-fight winning streak into the Octagon in his first championship title defense after stripping Quinton ”Rampage” Jackson of his 205-pound belt by way of a five-round unanimous decision at UFC 86 on July, 5. Griffin has won seven of his last nine bouts, making him the modest BetUS UFC odds favorite priced at -140 versus Evans (Even).

Evans will step into the cage with an unbeaten MMA 17-0-1 record on the line, having most recently won by way of a devastating Round 2 knockout against Chuck ”The Iceman” Liddell, who’s one of the sport’s biggest stars and feared fighters.

Also on the card, former PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira will defend his interim UFC belt against Frank Mir. Not only will the interim championship be on the line, more importantly, so will a shot at UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar to unify the title with the reigning champion in the first half of 2009 in what will be dubbed a Super Fight.

Nogueira will attempt to retain his interim belt and earn his trip to the Octagon to face Lesnar as the healthy UFC wagering favorite of -350. Meanwhile, Mir will try to get the job done at UFC 92 as the underdog with solid sports betting value of +250.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva will be in action as well, in a fight that could easily be labeled a main event at any venue. These are two of the hardest hitting and aggressive fighters in the business. If you bet on UFC action, the under may be the best wager in this one, because its unlikely this bout will end with both men standing. Silva-Rampage III should be a close, competitive and tremendous fight and oddsmakers agree by giving both men equal respect at -120.

Make no mistake about it online MMA betting fanatics, there is no love lost between these two former champions, and with Silva winning the first two fights, Jackson will be throwing punches with very bad intent in hopes of preventing a Silva three-peat.

UFC 92—THE ULTIMATE On Saturday, Dec. 27 will end the MMA year with a bang, literally. 2008 will long be remembered and this card has all the makings to be one of the best of the year.
