Dave B’s Week 12 Hot and Not examines who you can trust and who to be wary of.

Hot

QBs

Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys – Romo has now gone three straight games without throwing an interception and he’s got eight touchdowns over that span. He has the Cowboys in first place in the NFC East and may get his favourite toy back this week (Miles Austin). With the running game clicking as well, Romo has become HOT!

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Rodgers missed another 300-yards game by one yard! Still, he passed for another three touchdowns. You have to go back to Week 5 to see a time that Rodgers passed for less than 2 scores. In his last 5 weeks Rodgers has 17 touchdowns and is averaging nearly 300 yards per game.

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Ryan has thrown for 942 yards with a 6-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio over his last three games, going over 300 in the last two. Ryan is heating up at the right time and has Minnesota, Houston, Carolina and Jacksonville on the schedule next!

RBs

Michael Bush – Oakland Raiders – It is going to be too bad for Bush owners when Darren McFadden returns to the lineup. Bush is averaging 115.3 rushing yards over his last four games along with two touchdowns. He also has 599 yards receiving with 5 touchdowns through the air this season. His numbers will decline for sure but there is no denying that right now Bush is Hot!

DeMarco Murray – Dallas Cowboys – Murray’s streak of games with 135+ yards rushing was snapped on Sunday but there was a new wrinkle thrown into his game. Murray added a team-high six reception from QB Tony Romo for 32 yards for a total of 105 yards in the performance. He is a Stud and should continue against Miami, Arizona and the Giants.

Marshawn Lynch – Seattle Seahawks – Lynch has now scored a touchdown in six straight games! He is a true workhorse for the Hawks handling the ball nearly 30 times per game in his last three. Lynch has averaged nearly 111 yards rushing in those three with two of those efforts coming against Dallas and Baltimore’s stout run defences.

WRs

Jordy Nelson – Green Bay Packers – Nelson has been the most productive receiver in the game in the last three weeks. He has averaged over 5 grabs per game and 97 yards. Nelson has scored five touchdowns in those three games – Hot!

Laurent Robinson – Dallas Cowboys – Miles Austin looks like he will miss Week 12, leaving Robinson as the favourite Red Zone target for the scorching Tony Romo. Robinson has scored in four straight games and has five scores over that span. He may not be a yardage machine but he is definitely Hot when it comes to scoring touchdowns!

Victor Cruz – NY Giants – Cruz’s worst game in his last four was a 6 catch 84 yard performance against San Francisco. Cruz has averaged 100 yards receiving over that span and has scored twice.

Not Hot

QBs

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers isn’t exactly Cold but he is not as Hot as we’d like him to be at this point of the season. Hence the 4-6 record! Rivers has now thrown at least one interception in every contest except one this season and now has 17 on the season, which is a career high. It’s pretty hard to trust Philip at this point in time! [ad-8469823]

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo Bills – Fitz has cooled off dramatically as of late and is now in danger of becoming Waiver Wire fodder (if he hasn’t already). Fitzpatrick passed for over 200 yards for the first time in three games last Sunday (209) but failed to throw a touchdown. In his last three games, Ryan has just two touchdowns combined and seven interceptions – Not Hot!

Sam Bradford – St. Louis Rams – Bradford has been brutal this season but hopes were that he could turn his season around – WRONG! Since returning from injury, Bradford has averaged just 197 yards per game passing, has thrown just two touchdowns and three interceptions.

RBs

Beanie Wells – Arizona Cardinals – Wells has been slow to rebound from his knee injury. That, along with some brutal QB play has turned Beanie Not Hot! Wells has averaged just 38.3 yards per game in his last three outings and he hasn’t scored in any of those games!

Shonn Greene – NY Jets – Greene has not scored since Week 5 and now has an injury to deal with. In his last two games, Greene has rushed for just 71 yards total. He is so Not Hot that the coaches elected to keep him on the bench in Week 11 in favour of the “hot hand” Joe McKnight. Truth be told, McKnight wasn’t all that great in relief.

Ryan Matthews – San Diego Chargers – Matthews has been stuck in the mud lately to the chagrin of his owners. He has just 167 yards on the ground over his last four games and has failed to see pay dirt over that time – Not Hot!

WRs

Stevie Johnson – Buffalo Bills – Johnson has fallen off the Fantasy map – just 4 catches and 24 yards combined in his last two games. With Ryan Fitzpatrick struggling and the Jets up next on the schedule, Johnson is definitely Not Hot.

Anquan Boldin – Baltimore Ravens – Boldin has only three receptions total in the last two games for 57 yards. His only catch in Week 11 was a touchdown but there is still no denying that Boldin is Not Hot!
