Traditionally, Wide Receivers take a back seat to running backs and quarterbacks in the world of Fantasy but a look at the numbers, particularly in PPR leagues, WRs can make a serious impact as well. Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham won many people a title last year – there is some gold out there this season as well.

So who are they? Let’s take a look in Dave B’s 2015 Top 10 Preseason Wide Receiver rankings.

1. Antonio Brown PIT

The best receiver in the league last year won’t last past the first two or three pass catchers this year. He had an astounding 129 catches last season for nearly 1700 yards and 13 TDs.

He has now caught at least five balls for at least 50 yards in 32 straight games – remarkable consistency. He is the unquestioned focal point for Ben Roethlisberger and the easy #1 guy on the board this year.

2. Demaryius Thomas DEN

I am not buying into the Peyton demise talk – Manning is still a cerebral guy that knows where his meal ticket is – Thomas is that guy. He made 111 catches for 1, 619 yards and 11 TDs last year and could be better this year with Julius Thomas out of the mix. Thomas is absolutely elite and is a true Fantasy difference maker.

3. Dez Bryant DAL

Will look to make it four straight years with at least 1200 yards and 12 TDs – he should get it. He had 1,320 yards and a whopping 16 TDs last year! The departure of DeMarco Murray could lead to increased targets for Bryant this year – armed with a fat new contract expect Bryant to have a career year and to post top 3 WR numbers.

4. Odell Beckham Jr. NYG

Missed the first six games last year but exploded for 91 catches, 1,305 yards and 12 TDs in the 12 games he played. Teams simply had no answers for this kid! He would have been #1 on my list if not for the return of Victor Cruz to the Giants lineup and the health of the two running backs on the roster. Also, NFL defensive coordinators have had a whole offseason to game plan for Beckham.

All in all, expect top 5 numbers for Beckham – his talent is undeniable and his thirst for the ball is definitely refreshing.

5. Jordy Nelson GB

The top receiving threat on arguably the best offense in the NFL HAS to be top 5 on the list! He has averaged 92 catches and 1,416 yards and 10.5 TDs the last two years and should be able to reach those numbers this year as well. Any favorite of Aaron Rodgers should be a favorite of you.

6. Julio Jones ATL

He’s a beauty isn’t he? Jones made 94 catches for 1,593 yards last year – of concern is the fact that he only caught 6 TDs. He is still the best player in a pretty good offense and now O-coordinator Kyle Shanahan should be able to get him the ball. Jones is a Stud but falls just outside the top 5 this year, although he has the potential to end the season as the #1 Fantasy Wide Receiver.

7. A.J. Green CIN

Here’s another guy that could end up being the #1 Fantasy pass catcher of 2015. He was hampered all season long last year with a toe injury, missed four games and still ended with 1,041 yards and six TDs. If healthy Green will be heavily targeted and heavily utilized – guaranteed. Did I mention that Green is in a contract year?

8. Calvin Johnson DET

Missed three games last year but still had 71 catches, 1,077 yards and 8 TDs – his injury history has him a bit down the list here. If he stays healthy there are few that can match his size, speed and ability to take over a game. Johnson could be top 3 easily this upcoming season – his ceiling as the eighth WR taken is higher than any other ahead of him.

9. Alshon Jeffery CHI

Jeffery caught 85 balls for 1,133 yards and 10 TDs last year and had 89 catches for 1,421 yards a 7 scores in 2013 – both years would put him in WR1 territory. He’s fast, he’s strong and he is finally getting “it”. The biggest factor that makes Jeffery a top 10 WR this year is the departure of Brandon Marshall – Jeffery is the unquestioned top option in the passing game this year.

The Bears are going to have to throw this year – Jeffery will be the beneficiary.

10. T.Y. Hilton IND

There are those that think that the depth on the Colts and the sheer number of weapons for Indianapolis lessens Hilton’s value – not me. He had 82 catches for 1,345 yards and 7 TDs last tear and built up a pretty darn good chemistry with Andrew Luck who should be Fantasy’s top QB in 2015. Hilton had at least eight targets in 11 of 18 games last year and should at least match that this upcoming season.

11. DeAndre Hopkins HOU
12. Randall Cobb GB
13. Mike Evans TB
14. Emmanuel Sanders DEN
15. Kelvin Benjamin CAR
