Ottawa Senators vs. NY Islanders
NY Islanders -105

Love the line we get here tonight in the battle of the bottom-feeders on Long Island. The Home team is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between these two clubs and I don’t see this trend swinging the other way tonight. After getting bombed 5-0 in Chicago, the Islanders rebounded with a strong effort against the Canucks, dropping a 4-3 decision Tuesday. The Senators reached a new low by suffering a 6-0 loss to Boston, their worst loss of the season last game out. The Islanders have managed to win seven of their last 11 games. Ottawa is on a 0-4-2 slump. These teams are both brutal, but the NYI are prooving to me that they’re the lesser of two evils here. NY Islanders are 4-2 SU in their last 6 games at home, and are 4-2 SU in their last 6 games when playing at home against Ottawa.

Purdue vs. Minnesota
Play: 1 Unit Purdue -3½-110

Following last season’s Big Ten Tournament you can bet this Purdue squad had this date circled on their calendar. The reason for the heightened motivation comes from a humiliating loss to the Gophers in last season’s Conference Tourney 69 to 42. Purdue has used a stingy defense, not allowing a single opponent to score more than 69 points, to reel off ten straight wins including a perfect 5-0 ATS their last five times to post. The Boilermakers are also 4-0 straight up and against the number when playing on the road this season. Purdue is 5-1 SU/ATS with a line range of -7/+7 playing with Conference Tournament revenge. The Boilermakers are 8-1 ATS (+6.9 Units) after 3 straight games committing 14 or less turnovers this season, 10-2 ATS (+7.8 Units) as a favorite this season, 14-5 ATS (+8.5 Units) after 2 straight wins by 10 points or more over the last 2 seasons and 8-1 ATS (+6.9 Units) after playing 3 consecutive games as favorite this season. A check of the database reveals a powerful league-wide system that is active for tonight’s game and it tells us to Play ON CBB favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points with a team that allows < =63 points per game against a team that allows between 67 to 72 points per game after a blowout win by 20 points or more. These favorites have posted a record of 47-15 ATS the last three seasons. Our TPR Index projects Purdue with a 6.29-point advantage over Minnesota in this particular situation so we recommend laying the short number here as the Boilermakers avenge last season’s embarrassing tournament loss.
