Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz
Utah Jazz -6-105

Tonight from Salt Lake City, we get the NEW LOOK Utah Jazz. I’m playing on Utah -6 because this sudden type of jolt usually works in 1 of 2 ways for the team left without a coach. 1) They go into a deep funk, 2) They pick up their play and really turn on the jets. I expect to see #2. If you live in a bubble and missed it, 23-year coaching vet Jerry Sloan resigned suddenly Thursday. Sloan’s exit comes a night after he became irate when Deron Williams changed a play Sloan had called in a loss to the Bulls. Ultimately, Sloan decided it was time to move on. Assistant Tyrone Corbin, will take over. Utah has lost 10 of its last 14 and is sixth in the Western Conference. They are under-achieving BIGTIME! Their 2nd-season starts tonight, and they’ll be lead by center Al Jefferson, who is averaging 23.2 points over his last 6 games. Impressive. Jazz are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss. UTA are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Pacific, Phoenix is 7-15 SU in its last 22 games when playing on the road against Utah. Suns are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Northwest. This is the 2nd of 3 meetings this season. Phoenix won the 1st game of this series 110-94 so we catch UTAH playing on the revenge angle as well.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Toronto Raptors
Play: 1 Unit Total 210½ un-110

Toronto allows a league-high 48.0 points per game in the paint. That’s not a good sign considering how well Portland big man LaMarcus Aldridge is playing. Expect Aldridge to once again be instrumental in a Blazers win this evening. The Raptors have lost 15 of their last 16 games, and things figure to get no easier against a Portland team that has defeated them 5 straight times. It is worth noting that the last 4 wins came by 11 or more points. The Blazers have given us no reason to shy away from them in the small chalk. In fact, they are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite of 4.5 points or less. They are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 games as a road favorite of 4.5 or fewer points. The Raptors, meanwhile, are 9-23-1 ATS in their last 33 games as a home underdog of 4.5 points or less and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog period. Bet the Blazers. NBA Friday Betting

Ten games make up the NBA’s schedule for Friday, with New Jersey at Charlotte, Portland at Toronto, San Antonio at Philadelphia, New Orleans at Orlando, Minnesota at Indiana, Miami at Detroit, the Clippers at Cleveland, Milwaukee at Memphis, Phoenix at Utah, and the Lakers at New York. Friday CBB Betting

Ivy League action once again highlights the college basketball schedule for Friday, with Brown at Dartmouth, Pennsylvania at Cornell, Yale at Harvard, and Princeton at Columbia. IN CBB news today Under a new joint television schedule between CSB Sports and Turner Sports, the start times for this year’s NCA tournament will be staggered, meaning that every game will be available nationally in its entirety.

Friday NHL Hockey Betting

There are eight games on the NHL’s Friday slate, with Detroit at Boston, San Jose at New Jersey, Pittsburgh at the Islanders, Colorado at Columbus, the Rangers at Atlanta, Minnesota at St. Louis, Anaheim at Calgary, and Chicago at Dallas. IN NHL news today The Vancouver Canucks recalled veteran defenseman Sami Salo from Manitoba of the American Hockey League on Friday, a major boost for a blueline ravaged by injuries. The New York Islanders recalled goaltender Al Montoya and forward Micheal Haley from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League on Friday. Andrew Peters announced his retirement from hockey Friday, ending his six-year NHL career. The longest losing streak in professional sports history apparently isn’t enough to cost Cleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott his job.
