The 2010 NFL regular season has reached the halfway point and there are six teams at the top of the standings with 6-2 records. The AFC has New England and New York (Jets) tied for the lead in the East and Pittsburgh and Baltimore vying for the North division title. The NFC has New York (Giants) leading the East and Atlanta on top in the South.

There are a few teams like Buffalo (0-8), Carolina (1-7), and Dallas (1-7) that are already in line for the first pick in next spring’s draft, but the other 23 teams in the league still have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs.

The following is a brief look at each matchup in Week 10 along with the current pointspread as supplied by Sports Interaction.

Thursday, Nov. 11

8:20 P.M.  Baltimore at Atlanta (-1)
Over/Under: 43

Baltimore’s forced three turnovers in last Sunday’s 26-10 win over Miami to improve its overall turnover ratio to +1 on the year. Atlanta QB Matt Ryan is ranked ninth in the league with 1,949 passing yards and RB Michael Turner is ranked seventh in the league with 694 rushing yards.

Sunday, Nov. 14

1:00 P.M. Minnesota (-1) at Chicago
Over/Under: 40

Brett Favre’s 446 passing yards in Minnesota’s dramatic come-from-behind 27-24 victory over Arizona was a career high for the 20-year veteran. Chicago moved to 5-3 on the year with a 22-19 win over Buffalo which was the sixth Bears game of the season that has been decided by seven points or less.

N.Y. Jets (-3) at Cleveland
Over/Under: 37 ½

New York QB Mark Sanchez is completing just 53.5 percent of his passes through the first eight games of this season. He has completed less than 50 percent of his passes twice this year. Cleveland rookie QB Colt McCoy has completed an average of 67.7 percent of his passes in his three starts this season.

Carolina at Tampa Bay (-8 ½)
Over/Under: 36

Carolina’s offense production is threatening to rewrite the team’s record books in terms of futility. The Panthers are averaging just 244.4 total yards and 11 points per game, both ranked dead last in the league. Tampa Bay is statistically the worst 5-3 team in the league with the 21stranked offense and 24th ranked defense.

Tennessee (-1) at Miami
Over/Under: 41 ½

This will be Randy Moss’s third game in a different uniform when he lines up at wide receiver for Tennessee. Miami’s offense has fallen to 28th in the league in scoring; averaging just 17.9 points per game.

Cincinnati at Indianapolis (-8)
Over/Under: 46 ½

Cincinnati’s offense continues to put up big numbers everywhere but in the win column. The 2-6 Bengals’ 27-21 loss to Pittsburgh is their fifth straight by eight or less points. Indianapolis QB Peyton Manning will most likely be without WR Austin Collie for this one after he got knocked out in the Colts 26-24 loss to Philadelphia.

Detroit at Buffalo (-3)
Over/Under: 42 ½

Detroit is 2-6 overall but its offense is ranked 18th overall, eighth in passing yards per game, and seventh in scoring; averaging 25.4 points per game. Buffalo is 0-8 on the year but it has lost four of those games by a combined 14 points.

Houston at Jacksonville (-1 ½)
Over/Under: 50

Houston’s defense is giving up an average of 399.5 yards a game which is ranked last in the league and 28.2 points a game which is ranked 29th. Jacksonville’s defense is not much better, giving up an average of 386.2 yards per game and 28.2 points per game. NFL Betting

4:05 P.M. Kansas City (-1) at Denver
Over/Under: 42

Kansas City’s offense is ranked 12th in scoring; averaging 22.9 points per game and its defense is ranked eighth in points allowed; giving up an average of 18.1 points per game. Denver’s offense is ranked 24th in scoring and its defense is ranked 27th in points allowed.

St. Louis at San Francisco (-6)
Over/Under: 38 ½

St. Louis rookie QB Sam Bradford has completed just 58.6 percent of his passes and has an overall rating of 75.9, but his team has won more games (4) than it did in the last two seasons combined. San Francisco will once again go with QB Troy Smith as its starter after he led the 49ers to a victory over Denver two weeks ago.

Dallas at N.Y. Giants (-14)
Over/Under: 44 ½

Interim head coach Jason Garrett takes over a Dallas team that has been outscored 121-59 in its last three games. New York’s offense is ranked fourth in the league in scoring; averaging 27 points per game and its defense is giving up an average of 20 points per game.

Seattle at Arizona (-3)
Over/Under: 41

Seattle’s offense is averaging 10.75 points a game and its defense is giving up an average of 26 points in four road games this season. Arizona is 3-5 but can earn a share of the NFC West division lead with a win in this game combined with a Ram’s loss.

8:20 P.M. New England at Pittsburgh (-3 ½)
Over/Under: 44

New England’s defense gave up 404 total yards including 230 on the ground in its shocking 34-14 loss to Cleveland last week. Pittsburgh was able to convert a fumble, blocked punt, and an interception into enough points to get by Cincinnati on Monday night.

Monday, Nov. 15

8:30 P.M. Philadelphia (-3) at Washington
Over/Under: 41 ½

Philadelphia QB Michael Vick completed seven passes to WR DeSean Jackson for 109 yards and one TD in its win over Indianapolis. It was the first game back for both players after missing time with injuries. This will be Donovan McNabb’s second shot to beat his old team after orchestrating a 17-12 victory in Philadelphia earlier in the year.

Bye Week: Green Bay, New Orleans, Oakland, San Diego
