NCAAB: Rams vs Wildcats Predictions

College basketball betting sees the VCU Rams taking on the Davidson Wildcats on Thursday March 5 at John M. Belk Arena in Davidson, North Carolina. Cappers Picks provides complimentary handicapping picks all NCAAB season long.

VCU was supposed to run away with the A10 this season but that hasn’t been the case making this a very important game in determining the A10 regular season winner and maybe an invite to the dance.

VCU

The Rams are looking to catch surprising Davidson to climb to second place in the A10 with a win on the road Thursday night.

Odds are the Rams are good to make the Tourney even with a loss provided they don’t flame out of the conference tournament next week but a win would give them a sweep over the conference’s newest member.

They also need to snap their current two game losing streak and build some momentum for a playoff run. They are shorthanded but they still have a shot at winning the league.

There is no doubt the Rams have been struggling without Brionte Weber. I know he was their defensive catalyst but his absence is affecting the offense too.

They need to start doing a better job of recognizing the difference between good and bad shots and not be so committed to the three point line.

They are not getting as much from their defense so their offensive efficiency needs to improve.

Davidson

The Wildcats have been a huge surprise.

They are second in the A10 right now and are the best ATS team in the nation at 20-4 ATS. They have won seven in a row heading into this one and will be facing one of the few team that has got them this season.

This game will be a nice contrast as the Wildcats are a top scoring team and will be staring down HAVOC. The last time they did on the road they scored 14 points below their seasonal average.

If they get their offense going they will have a great chance.

This is an underrated team for sure. No one gave them much of a shot to be a contender in the A10 and the program is getting more pub than they have since Steph Curry led a surprising run a few seasons ago.

They are just so good at running their stuff that they beat you down with proficiency.

I don’t want to discount the talent but the coaching job this season has been fabulous.

NCAAB Betting Trends:

  • Under is 8-3 in VCU last 11 road games.

NCAAB Betting Prediction:  VCU +4

Once again VCU will be able to set the pace.

NCAAB Score Prediction:  VCU 67 – Davidson 65

The Wildcats will fight hard at home to catch up. But it won’t be enough as the Rams get an important victory.  Nice value here with the road dogs.
