The 49ers found some life last week, despite losing by three in Houston against the Texans. Quarterback Alex Smith, filling in for an ineffective Shaun Hill, rallied coach Mike Singletary’s squad to three touchdowns, but a late interception sealed the 49ers’ fate in the heart of Texas.

This is another game that won’t be found in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s archives… unless there’s a Football Follies section. Cleveland Browns brings its dysfunctional team and its particularly horrendous offense into the Windy City to play a bunch of Bears who are not living up to preseason expectations, at least not in the case of Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler.
Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams

After losing a heart-breaking game to Denver week one the Bengals have reeled off four straight wins and have beaten every team in their division. What is most impressive about Cincinnati’s winning streak is their ability to make plays in the final seconds each game.

The highlight of NFL Week 1 betting could come on Thursday, when the defending Super Bowl champions from Pittsburgh will welcome Tennessee to Heinz Field, which hasn’t been kind to the Titans in recent years.
