NFL Betting Odds: Bengals -1

The Chicago Bears have been up-and-down this season. They have looked good in their three home wins but have whiffed twice in their two road losses. Last week, the Bears played the Atlanta Falcons really tough but ended up losing the game as the Falcons scored on their last drive and the Bears could not match.

Even so, this Bears team does deserve a lot of credit. Most notably, quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler got that credit in the form of some cash this week as the Bears extended his contract by a couple of years and gave him some $20 million in guarantees.

Online betting fans have noticed that the Bears have been impressive given the amount of injuries they have succumbed, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Team leader and Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher is out for the season and the Bears have been absolutely ravaged at the position. They are no longer the defensive juggernaut they once were but with Cutler leading the way on offense, the team has still been very competitive.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals have also had an up-and-down start to the season. Currently, they still sit in first place in the AFC North but they are fresh off a very disappointing performance last week. The Bengals lost at home to the Houston Texans and basically didn’t even show up for the game.

The passing game didn’t work for the Bengals and the running game didn’t either. On top of that, the Bengals made a number of mistakes that really hurt this team’s chances of winning.

This week, the Bengals will try to bounce back as the Bears come to town.

On one hand, the Bears are on back-to-back road games, which is a problem for any team in the NFL. It’s always tough to win the second of the back-to-back road situations and the Bears have already shown that they aren’t particularly good away from home.

Meanwhile for Cincy, this will be their second straight home game and it’s unusual for any team, even the Bengals, who have rebounded, to lose back-to-back home games.

Look for the Bengals hop on the back of running back Cedric Benson, who was cut by the Bears last year before he made his way to Cincinnati, and get the big win.

In other BetOnline.com NFL news, keep in mind that a decision about Tom Cable’s arrest will come down later tonight. If you recall, Cable acted like a Gambino Family – or genovese family – member when he organized crime or Oakland Raiders assistant Randy Hanson in the Raiders wire room. Cable is one of the defendants and could go to prison. Hopefully he’s paid his taxes as the IRS may bring some heat on him now too. He would probably be indicted first, then convicted.
