Green Bay Packers Preview
The Green Bay Packers look primed to continue their run atop of the NFC North. I am not a big fan of their signature move of the offseason – bringing in DE Julius Peppers – but even if it is a failure this team should have more than enough offense to make the playoffs, then who knows.
They haven’t bridged the gap with the likes of Seattle but they are a contender, maybe second in the conference after the Seahawks who they face the opening week. Cappers Picks provides free NFL football handicapping tips all season long.
The Green Bay Packers endured the nightmare of every team that rosters a franchise quarterback this past season when Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury and missed an extended period of time.
The Green Bay Packers struggled in week 1 of the preseason and lost to the Titans (20-16) at home. The St. Louis Rams looked good in the opening week despite losing at home to the Saints (26-24).
Green Bay defied the odds last season and snuck into the playoffs even though QB Aaron Rodgers missed a good chunk of the season.
Packers Host Their Kryptonite – 49ers Come to Town in Wild Card Round
One of the best non-divisional rivalries in the NFL writes another chapter Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers travel to Lambeau to take on the Green Bay Packers.
The San Francisco 49ers will make the trip out east to legendary Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. The 49ers closed the season with six consecutive victories, while the Packers clawed their way to a win over the Bears in their finale to lock up the NFC North division.
The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will face off on Sunday in a game that will decide the NFC North. Both teams are coming off disheartening losses, but they’ll each need to find the motivation to get up for this pivotal game in a hurry.
Green Bay will aim to extend its string of 13 consecutive regular-season home game wins in December or January, when they host the Steelers on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

It will be the first meeting between the Packers and Steelers since Green Bay’s 31-25 victory in Super Bowl XLV three years ago.
The Steelers (6-8) haven’t been eliminated from the postseason yet, and after a second half season surge, find themselves just two games out of the final AFC playoff spot.
Despite its sub .500 record, Pittsburgh has played well, losing four games by a touchdown or less, including a 34-28 defeat to Miami two weeks ago. However, the Steelers rebounded to kept their playoff hopes alive with a 30-20 win over division rival Cincinnati last week.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger needs just 85 passing yards to reach 4,000 for the third time in his career, and has played well against Green Bay, throwing for a career-best 503 yards and three TDs in his only previous regular-season meeting with the Packers.
Defensively, Pittsburgh has been unpredictable, but was excellent last week, holding the Bengals to 279 total yards. They will however, be tested by the Packers, who despite being without quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who broke his collarbone in Week 9, have rode a steady wave of rookie running back Eddie Lacy all the way to a chance at the NFC North title.
Lacy, who has rushed for 1,028 yards and eight scores, will be a huge factor in this matchup, as Rodgers’ status is still yet to be determined for Sunday’s contest.
In the meantime, Green Bay (7-6-1) has soldiered on without their captain, bouncing back from a 26-3 halftime deficit to beat Dallas last week behind a solid effort from backup quarterback Matt Flynn, who threw four touchdown passes against the Cowboys.
Nevertheless, if Green Bay wants to stamp its title ticket, it will need an appearance from the defense that shut down Dallas last week.
The Packers have won their final regular-season home game in eight straight seasons and 20 of the last 21 and in one of the biggest games of the year for both teams, I expect them to get it done at home with a steady dose of Lacy, and maybe a slim possibility of a shot or two of Rodgers.
Regardless, Green Bay gets it done.
Packers 28, Steelers 24
The Green Bay Packers will head to Arlington on Sunday to play for the first time at AT&T Stadium since their Super Bowl win over Pittsburgh back in 2011.
The Green Bay Packers will again be without the services of quarterback Aaron Rodgers when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. While the Packers have struggled without their starting quarterback, Atlanta has been stuck in a downward spiral all season with no end in sight.
First Place in NFC North on the Line – Lions Host Packers Thanksgiving Day
Kicking off a terrific slate of games on Thanksgiving Day is an intriguing tilt between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions – two teams that have a chance to seize control of the NFC North but at times seem like they don’t want it.
