Golden State

Entering Monday’s contest, the Warriors hold the best record in the NBA and have a franchise record 12-game win streak going. They are currently the only team in the league to have both of their starting guards average over 20 points per game.

Stephen Curry is having an MVP caliber season and is averaging 23.2 points per game to go along with shooting guard Klay Thompson’s 21.2.

It’s no surprise that both guard are performing at high levels, but the Warriors have received other major contributions. Draymond Green is averaging 13.5 points per game, after only averaging 6.5 last year. Small forward Harrison Barnes is putting up 11.6 points per game to go along with 6.4 rebounds.

The loss of David Lee has proved to no problem at all. Draymond Green has stepped up and is having a career year in scoring and shooting from the three point line.

As a team, the Warriors are shooting 38.4% from three and average 107.1 points per game. Both of these marks rank near the top of the league.

Minnesota

The Timberwolves bring the leagues worst record into this game on Monday. Defense has not been their strong suit thus far this year. As a team, the Timberwolves are surrendering 112.7 points per game.

Despite their ugly record, there are some positives. The Timberwolves have young star Andrew Wiggins, who has had some impressive moments so far in his young career. Wiggins is averaging 11.4 points per game.

Rookie point guard Zach LaVine is averaging 19.5 points per game with 7.5 assists in replacement for veteran point guard Mo Williams.

Minnesota dropped their five in a row the other night in San Antonio, but received a great effort from LaVine. He had 22 points and 10 assists.

The Timberwolves have a lot of young talent and it will be interesting to see how they respond to playing the best team in the league.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Golden State is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games.
  • Minnesota is 1-5 ATS in its last six home games.
  • Golden State is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games.
  • Total has gone OVER in 10 of last 13 Minnesota games.

Look for the Warriors to continue their dominant road win streak against the beat up Timberwolves. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will thrive against the rookie guards who will be checking them. I think as long as the Warriors keep their starters in for a majority of the game, they won’t have any problem covering the spread.

Golden State was won five of the last six in Minnesota, covering the spread in all of them.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: GS -13.5

Although that is a lot points to be giving, scoring points is no problem for Steph Curry and company.

Golden State 107, Minnesota 92

With the Timberwolves giving up near the most points per game in the league, the Warriors will put up over 100 and cover the spread.
