The Alabama Crimson Tide has been the best team in college football through four weeks, and unless they slip up against an SEC foe in the Ole Miss Rebels, that trend should continue. Each team is coming off a lopsided victory, and each team brings momentum into their matchup.
The Arizona Wildcats are coming off their only loss of the season, but it was one that just might stick with the team for quite some time. With the No. 18 Oregon State Beavers coming to town, each team has something to prove in week five.
The Oregon Ducks are traveling away from Autzen Stadium for the first time this season, but with the game against the Washington State Cougars being played in Seattle—not Pullman—the crowd should look far more neutral than Mike Leach would like.
The Boise State Broncos squeaked out a 7-6 win last Thursday night over BYU. Boise State clearly isn’t the same powerhouse team they were the last couple years, but they are still a formidable team.
The Big Ten has been the laughing stock of college football so far this year. Game after game in the non-conference schedule the Big Ten was humiliated by smaller conferences.
Both Miami and NC State are off to good 3-1 starts and while the Hurricanes have already won 2 conference games this is the first ACC game for the Wolfpack.
Both Baylor and West Virginia have yet to lose and this game should be a barnburner, as each has a passing offense that ranks in the top 5 in the nation.
Minnesota is off to a solid 4-0 start and while they have a decent offense and a solid defense they have not played any legitimate teams so far on the season.
Georgia is off to a great 4-0 start and they are already 2-0 in SEC play. Now they host a Tennessee team that has a solid offense and a Heisman candidate under center.
The Cardinals (4-0) are off to a great start and they already beat Kentucky from the SEC and North Carolina from the ACC.
Texas is back? A 3-0 start is good but not much was learned from playing the likes of Wyoming, New Mexico and Ole Miss.
Florida State picked up a huge national television win over Clemson last Saturday night. The Seminoles are up to number four in the polls, and they clearly have a shot at running the table.
The Red Raiders are looking to get back into the race in the revamped Big 12 this year. It is going to be tough because even though two better programs left two new better programs took their slots.
The Clemson Tigers fought hard last week in Tallahassee, but Florida State outlasted them 49-37. Dabo Swinney’s team still has a lot to play for, and they’ll have to get back on track right away.
The Horned Frogs have been stealthily sneaking up the rankings with their perfect start to the season.
This is their first year in the BIg 12 and this is their last nonconference game for the year.
BYU has lost their last 2 games, but they are back at home where they are 2-0 this season. Hawaii has lost 2 of their last 3 games and they are a weak team on both sides of the ball.
