In 2011, the UCLA Bruins made the Pac-12 championship game because of a formality. The USC Trojans were banned from postseason competition, meaning that UCLA was given the spot without truly earning it.
The UCLA Bruins are coming off a disappointing 2011-12 college basketball season, but a top-quality recruiting class has helped propel them into the top 25 to begin the season.
The last time the UCLA Bruins won the Rose Bowl was 1984. The Bruins haven’t even been a part of the Rose Bowl since 14 years ago. Rick Neuheisel promised to take the program back to the top, but that never panned out. Jim Mora was brought in to try things a different way in Westwood.
After losing its first two contests of the season, UCLA appeared to have turned a corner winning three straight., but then tragedy struck as the Bruins finished out the 2010 season winning just one of its final seven, a 17-13 win over Oregon State.
