There are rumours that Boise State is trying to undo their move to the Big East scheduled for next season. Right now they are 6-1 in the Mountain West, looking to finish with a win and then see what happens.
UNLV is one of the least successful programs in the FBS. Their talent level is low because it seems that nobody wants to play there initially, though they do gather some transfers that have washed out of other big time schools.
Stop the presses, Fresno State is 6-0 ATS this season. Clearly they are doing much better than expected, including playing Oregon closer than anybody else (sort of…they backed into a cover after being down 35-6).
How about 50 wins and 3 losses? That is the Boise State Broncos record over the last four seasons. Chris Petersen has taken this team to the next level. There is a major question mark surrounding this season though: the departure of star quarterback Kellen Moore.
This year’s MAACO Las Vegas bowl features two of college football’s most prolific quarterbacks, as No. 6 Boise State’s Kellen Moore (49-3), the winningest quarterback in NCAA history, faces off against Arizona State gunslinger Brock Osweiler who passed for 3,641 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2011.
It seemed as though Boise State was poised for a BCS bowl last season until the stunning 34-31 overtime defeat at the hands of the Wolf Pack of Nevada that shoved them out of the national spotlight. Now they will be in a new conference ready to show that they are for real.
