Today, it’s time for player props and picks. A big reason why is the fun range of prop bets available. Sportsbooks come up with more wacky props for the Super Bowl than for any other sporting event all year.

I see the calmer, more experienced Colts scoring first and Peyton Manning has fallen in love with Collie as a red-zone target. Teams get distracted by Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark and constantly forget about Collie, who has scored in each of his first two playoff games.

It’s possible that neither Brees nor Manning throws a pick, as both are so accurate, but I’m still expecting minor jitters from Brees. If he does throw a pick, I see it happening on the Saints’ first or second possession, with Bethea the beneficiary.

This bet really depends on the coin toss but, if the Colts win it, Peyton Manning will likely try to establish an instant rhythm. And who better to help him do that than Dallas Clark, his favorite target?

Pick: Drew Brees +20.5 yards.
I expect Manning to do his damage early and gradually start chewing up the clock in the second half if Indy has the lead. Brees, meanwhile, should throw like a madman all game long, especially if he’s trailing.

Peyton Manning +105
Pick: Peyton Manning +105.
This may seem contradictory after I picked Brees to throw for more yards, but I expect Brees to attempt more deep throws and big gains. Manning, on the other hand, will be content to systematically pick the Saints apart with short routes. Brees completed 40 passes over his last two playoff games; Manning completed 56.
PLAYER WITH LONGEST RUN IN GAME

Pick: Pierre Thomas +110.
The much more explosive Thomas averaged an outstanding 5.4 yards per carry this season versus Addai’s 3.8 yards. Addai’s longest run of the year was 25 yards. This is a steal.
PLAYER WITH MOST RECEIVING YARDS
Marques Colston +6.5 yards
Reggie Wayne -6.5 yards
Pick: Reggie Wayne -6.5 yards.
In Colston’s last three games, he has 3, 83 and 22-yard performances. He’s too inconsistent to rely on.
