Sportsbook Review: JustBet.com

It’s a sexy-looking book. Does it have the substance to match the style? Let’s take a closer look at the sportsbook JustBet.com.

Offerings

USA Player Friendly!

The sports offerings from JustBet.com are pretty standard. It covers your staple sports – NFL, NBA, NHL and so on. It’s well laid out, with futures and props to accompany all the standard betting lines for each sport. I particularly like that sports not in season don’t disappear from the listings; even if NHL lines aren’t up in the summer, the NHL section stays intact, so it’s easy to stay on top of when the lines will return.

While JustBet does a good job dabbling in futures, it doesn’t go the extra mile. It doesn’t offer odds for too many obscure sports or feature any particularly creative lines or betting promos.

A big letdown is JustBet’s “Insider” section which, full of meaty sports betting articles. I perused the site, impressed at the volume and expertise….until I noticed there hasn’t been a new article posted since the beginning of June. It was from the middle of the NBA Finals. The experts didn’t even wait until the series ended to take their vacation, apparently.

Note: I’ve since been told that the Just Bet Blog is found at http://insider.justbet.com/

JustBet redeems itself in a big way with its Casino. It’s flashy (literally, as it operates on Flash), it’s pretty, it offers lots of exciting games and…Drum roll…NO DOWNLOAD REQUIRED. Outstanding news. It also offers mobile betting, which is quickly becoming a must for cutting-edge sportsbooks. The racebook offerings are standard, not missing any major lines but not featuring anything out of the ordinary.

JustBet gets marks for not making any glaring omissions with its lines and for its outstanding casino offerings. But its lack of variety and creativity plus its unexplained work stoppage in the article-writing business take it down a notch.

Grade: B+

Ease of Use

Is JustBet.com easy or difficult to use? I can’t decide. I think it’s easy enough? It looks fantastic and, unlike many of the flashier books, it has pretty quick load time and well-organized odds. I especially like how easy it is to navigate the casino games, a process that is so commonly cluttered.

One annoyance: the drop down menus at the top of the screen. If you hover your mouse over “Sportsbook” and the various sports drop down, you have to tightrope-walk your mouse from one end of the screen to the other if you want to reach the less popular sports like tennis or soccer on the far right side of the page. One slipup and the menu disappears, forcing you to restart.

Aside from that thorn in the side, JustBet is crisp and easy to navigate.

Grade: A-

Intangibles/Promos

JustBet.com doesn’t set a high watermark for bonuses but it certainly doesn’t fall short, either.

It offers a nice variety, including a $10 mobile freeplay, a rebate on all exotic wagers, standard signup bonuses and progressive casino jackpots.

It gets points for a few original promos but loses ground for having smaller bonuses then some books.

JustBet does an outstanding job with its banking. It has a truckload of different options, including credit card, bank wire, cashier checks and even person-to-person transfers.

As for payouts…the variety is nice but it’s too bad that you get only one free withdrawal of $300 or more per calendar month.

Grade: B+

Overall

JustBet is a good sportsbook that could be great with a few tweaks. If it updated its expert info, provided odds for a few more sports and made its payout process a bit less painful, it could be a powerhouse. It’s a nice-looking, easy-to-use book with an awesome casino. Overall, I’d say it’s a better book for newbies than it is for diehards.

FINAL GRADE: B+
