NFL Pro Bowl Betting Lines – AFC vs. NFC Matchup Preview

Beted weighs in with their look at the NFL Pro Bowl betting matchup. The AFC’s best take on the NFC’s best in the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl. The game will take place this Sunday, and kickoff is scheduled for 7:20…

Is it the Pro Bowl or the No-Show Bowl?

The American Football Conference takes on the National Football Conference in the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl at Sun Life Stadium on Sunday (7:20 pm ET, ESPN).

The NFC is a 3-point favorite and the over/under is 57 in NFL Betting Odds at betED.com.

betED.com also has plenty of Pro Bowl Props, like which team will score first (NFC, -125; AFC, -110) and which team will score last (NFC, -125; AFC, -110).

Prop bettors can also wager on what the result will be of the first offensive series of the game: Punt (-160); Score, whether TD, field goal or safety (+165); and any other outcome (+550).

The NFL’s version of an all-star game will be minus many stars this year, including the two starting quarterbacks in Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7: Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints

Other notable no-shows in Florida on Sunday will include Minnesota Vikings’ pivot Brett Favre, San Diego Chargers’ quarterback Philip Rivers, and Colts’ wide receiver Reggie Wayne.

The AFC will be led by QBs Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans, Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans, and David Garrard of the Jacksonville Jaguars. They’ll be up against Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, Donovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys.

While the NFC may have the edge in quarterbacks, the AFC will have the Titans’ Chris Johnson, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year, at running back. The AFC will also have RB Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens.

For the first time since it began in 1939, the Pro Bowl is being played the week before the Super Bowl. And for the first time in 29 years, the game will not be held in Honolulu.

I think the final rosters are set and looking at which star players that are actually going to play in this game I give the slight edge to the NFC. The line is up to 3, but I think they win this by more than a field goal
