Lakers vs Bucks NBA Handicapping
Three into one. That’s what it has come down to in the Western Conference’s battle for the last playoff spot.

Kings and Blues Continue their Push for the Playoffs Thursday Night
Two teams holding down playoff positions in the Western Conference meet in a very important game Thursday night as the LA Kings, a winner last time out against the best team in the NHL Chicago take on the scuffling St. Louis Blues who have lost three of their last four games overall.
Two games in and the Cardinals have won by 31 and 26 points. If that pattern holds than they should beat Oregon by 21 and might not be challenged until the Championship game.
The last time Indiana won the National Championship they beat Syracuse in the 1987 title game. Both of these teams in the Sweet 16 East Region match up had blowout wins in their Big Dance openers, but each was tested in their last game.
Marquette has played 2 close games to advance to the Sweet 16 only winning those games by a combined 3 points. After an easy win in their first Big Dance game the Hurricanes struggled on offense in their last win only winning by 4 points.
I know I know – you are used to seeing the Shell Houston Open the week before the Masters but not this year! It is a weird scheduling blip that will right itself after this year.
Step right up, Chicago Bulls. You’re next. Twenty-seven straight and counting for the Miami Heat, who publically claim that they are not all that interested in breaking the NBA record of 33 (set by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers).
The New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans? Giants-killers? New Orleans destroyed the Nuggets off the boards Sunday night and put an end to Denver’s winning streak which had hit 15 games, the younger brother to Miami’s 27-game run.
The Buckeyes escaped their third round game against Iowa State with a victory. In my opinion they were outplayed but a win is a win.
It has been a pretty wild ride to get to this point.
A team from the First 4 is still in it, a #15 seed beat a #2 seed, then won again to make the Sweet Sixteen for the first time ever. Even the favourites who won got their by the skin of their teeth – I am looking at you Indiana and Ohio State.
If the Washington Nationals are allowed to bring all of their weapons to this season’s postseason fight there will be some tremendous value in their current odds to win it all. After having to put their pitching staff ace Stephen Strasburg on the shelf for last year’s playoffs, the Nationals made an early exit with a 3-2 series loss to St. Louis in the NLDS.
Welcome to the AL West Houston Astros! The Astros make a move from one of the more competitive NL divisions to a very solid AL division this year.
The Tigers came close last year, making it all the way to the World Series before running into a Giants team that wouldn’t be denied.
Headline: Disappointing Eastern Teams Try to Right the Ship – Rangers Visit Flyers
Two of the more disappointing teams in the Eastern Conference go head-to-head on Tuesday night with both searching for consistency along their uphill climb toward the playoffs.
I have long admired the Shockers program and I thought they would play well but I just didn’t see how they would beat Gonzaga. Even if they were able to shorten the game a little bit and play their guts out I still thought they would come up just a little bit short.
The theory being floated in Boston goes like this. Since you have to beat Miami to get to The Finals, do it this way:
1. Forget about seeding and rest your top players.
